Python Developers shares all the latest in Python
Software Development is a massive field with lots of opportunities. Today I wanted to ask the community why?
Why did you or do you want to learn software development?
There is no wrong answer to this question as we all have different needs in our life that we are looking to fulfill... For some that is money, opportunity or even a creative outlet. I think that knowing your why is very important, so write me a comment and let me know your why and if it is being fulfilled at the moment.
What are your thoughts on the Python Standard Library. A recent question came up and it has people questioning the size and future plans for it. Do you think they should consider reducing or restructuring the standard library? Sounds like there is a huge cost in maintaining it but Python has always been a batteries included language and a big driving force for that is the standard library including everything you could need.

Hello Python Developers. I want to hear from you. What stage are you at in your development journey. How did you get there and where do you want to be in the future(whatever time-frame you think fits 1 year, 5 years 10 years.) I find it amazing how diverse this field is and no two people will ever be at the exact same place in it. Also what do you look for in your information resources.
I hope that this post finds you happy healthy and well. Everyone is struggling to deal with the major impacts of the COVID-19 or Coronavirus. This pandemic will have repercussions for years and maybe even decades to come. However, if it has taught us anything it is we need to be prepared to expect the unexpected and have a contingency plan in place if things turn bad. Many of you are already in the development field and many of you are trying to level up your skills to break into the field. This is a smart move because if there is one field that had less of an impact it is technology and software development. As people had their lives turned upside down with furlough and layoffs a lot of developers just moved to be fully remote. Now is the time to make sure you skills are sharp and you are ready to expect the unexpected. A lot of companies are looking for developers still to get their projects going. Also a lot of the training is offering free training and access to their platforms while others are offering substantial discounts. The web is stronger than ever because as many people have lost their jobs they are turning to the web for entertainment and study. If you are looking for some great resources to level up https://www.pluralsight.com/ has . https://survey.zerotomastery.io/covid19 is a program that Zero to master is helping out anyone that has lost their job due to COVID and they will be accepting applications until April 10th. As the year comes to an end take a pause to reflect & set goals
The start of the New Year is when many of set our goals for the upcoming year. However, often we do this without reflecting on what we accomplished and where we failed during the year that's ending.
Complete these important steps prior to setting new goals:
1. Did you meet the goals you set for the current year?
2. What struggles did you have during the current year and what did you do to get around them?
3. What failures did you have and did you work to learn from them?
4. What were your successes and what did you learn from them?
5. Think back to where you were at this time last year and compare it to where you are this year. Are you satisfied with your progress? Be honest with your self appraisal, but not overly critical!
To help with this its a good idea to make a list! It's more important for it to be focused and actionable.
For your new goals make them SMART. Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant and Time-based.
Let us know some of the accomplishments, failures you learned from or goals you will set for the new year as we can all learn from each other.
Hoping everyone has a happy, healthy and prosperous 2020 🥂🎉🎊
