🎨We have been absent from Facebook for a while, but we cannot let the 2023/ 2024 school year end without recognising the incredible work of artist Rochelle Lucey. We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Kerry County Council Artists in School Scheme for sponsoring this arts activity. The mural transformed the school wall into a dynamic and visually stimulating space. The horizontal climbing wall, sponsored by Cromane Seafoods Ltd., provides a fun and challenging way for students to incorporate physical activity into their daily routines. Thank you all again. It was a real community effort!! 🎨

We were treated to a visit on Friday by Geraldine O'Sullivan from the Heritage in Schools Scheme.
This scheme provides a panel of Heritage Specialists who visit primary schools to help children and their teachers learn about and appreciate their local heritage.
Our expert ,Geraldine, has long experience as a craft worker and has taught traditional crafts in many different settings to adults and children alike.
Geraldine is part of the Craggaunowen Living Past Project in Co. Clare where she demonstrates spinning, weaving and natural dyeing and takes part in experimental archaeology projects.
Geraldine’s visit covered a variety of topics and discussions that relate to life in the past especially spinning and weaving.
The children were shown how to make a basic loom out of cardboard or other recycled objects. They learned how to identify plants from their locality that create dyes .The children were very proud of their colourful wristbands.
