**OPPORTUNITY TO PARTICIPATE IN A RESEARCH PROJECT**
Hi everyone, we are looking for medical students currently studying at the University of Exeter Medical School to participate in an online survey to measure their feelings of Belongingness.
This will take around 10 minutes to complete, is anonymous and participation is entirely voluntary. Previous studies in Exeter medical students suggest Belongingness this can vary between students and may impact on learning.
Belongingness is a key component of the psychological wellbeing of students, affecting their ability to learn especially in clinical environments.
Comparison with data from a previous survey carried out in Exeter in 2019 will provide information about how belongingness has changed during the period 2019-2021 when there have been significant changes to teaching delivery.
The Covid 19 pandemic and associated changes in learning have been shown to have negative impacts on the mental health of university students, with more than one-third of the participants in one survey (Drissie et al, 2020) experiencing issues related to depression and anxiety as well as social dysfunction, and we are keen to understand if this is reflected in Belongingness.
A better understanding of these effects will help inform planning for recovery from Covid.
If you would like to participate please follow the link:
