This very special lad was commissioned at Christmas to be gifted to his owner in remembrance. You can tell he was such a fun boy to be around and very dearly missed. I really loved working on his portrait especially that big smile!
This is Max the Bulgarian scent hound he was commissioned as a special gift for his mum for Christmas and was very well received. I absolutely loved every second of drawing this handsome lad π₯°

I used pastelmat and a mixture of carbothello and Pitt pastels alongside some fantastic reference photos to capture this gorgeous black lab.

This full body A3 portrait of Reuben was completed using pastels on clairefontaine pastel mat, he was a real pleasure to work on with all his cute markings and those gorgeous eyes!
He was commissioned as a gift for Christmas and was very well received by his family π§‘

I always love the first stages of a portrait, getting down the foundations before the real work begins. I've always kept works in progress to myself in the past as I thought it was off putting for the customer to see and try to understand my madness but it's a really important part of the process π
