Life is filled with many decisions and choices. Some big, some small. Some lead us towards our goals, and some take us in the opposite direction. The next time you have a big decision to make, take the time to really consider where it might lead.
Every time I walk onto the set from the very first day when I started shooting my yoga show, to my music videos, or Wai Lana Insights series I always take a moment to remember the reason for my work.
A flower lei is very beautiful. But not as beautiful as the smiling face of the person who receives such a loving gift.
Every day we have opportunities to be kind to others, to make choices that help us to grow spiritually, and to be a positive influence on the world around us. The more we are grateful for those opportunities, the more opportunities we will begin to see.
There’s nothing quite like a cool breeze on your face on a hot day! That same invigorating relief is how I feel when I do my yoga stretches at the end of a long day.
Sometimes we become angry when we see the qualities we don’t like about ourselves in others. The next time you become angry with someone, take a moment to consider if this is the cause.
When we’re really busy, it’s easy to neglect making our health a priority.
But as we’ve all been reminded over these past two years, it’s very important to make conscientious choices regarding rest, diet, and cleanliness.

Another benefit from my years of practicing yoga asanas is they have helped me maintain my stamina and energy levels. I appreciate this every time I get to play with my grandchildren! It’s never too late to start practicing if you don’t already!
Even a few moments of meditation can help set the right mood for the entire day.
One way to add a positive change to your life, whether it be exercise, better rest, or improvements to your diet, is to think of all the benefits you’ll gain from that activity. Visualizing how your life will improve with your new habit is a great motivator.
If you see a quality in another person that you don’t like, try looking within yourself to see if you have that same quality. There’s a saying, if you point a finger at someone else, there are three fingers pointing back at you.

Now that summer is on the way, it’s time to start thinking about what we can grow in our gardens. There’s nothing better for our diet than eating fresh wholesome ingredients. And the less we need to depend on the grocery store right now the better.

One of the silver linings of this pandemic is that we’ve all had to focus on properly washing our hands. This one good habit can spare us from a lot of sickness throughout our lives.
An important part of staying healthy and keeping our bodies from getting run down is to find something to help our mind and body de-stress! I have a few ways I like to do this. Singing outside in the fresh air is one of my top choices!
Yoga asanas and tai chi are good exercises for most people because they don’t deplete your energy. Other exercises, like jogging or running, aren’t ideal for everyone because they can cause exhaustion.
There’s something so infectious about the joy of little ones. We could all learn something from their unashamed appreciation of even the smallest things!
If we want a healthy body, we should be careful what we put into our mouths. If we want healthy relationships, we should be careful what comes out of our mouths.
