Rule of Wolves is the second book in the King of Scars duology. I haven't done a review for King of Scars (5 stars in case you were curious) since I started writing reviews after I had already finished reading it.

However, I love this series and the entire Grishaverse.

These characters are so diverse and their relationships are so unexpected, but it all meshes together nicely.

If you haven't read ANY of the Grishaverse books, I definitely suggest you do and to start with Shadow and Bone trilogy. You won't regret it.

I didn't want this story to end after just two books.

But Bone Crier's Dawn didn't disappoint.

We have two strong female main characters, one strong in the traditional badass way and the other who is strong in soft gentle ways but refuses to break or change.

There is definitely more action in this book as well and I finished it fairly quickly!

Still one of my favorite series to recommend to people.

The Binding was not a typical book for me to read. There is definitely fantasy aspects to it, but nothing like what I usually read.

This story is definitely more along a historical romance with a dash of fantasy mixed in.

Despite it being light on fantasy, I absolutely LOVED The Binding. It definitely kept me on my toes and wondering what was going to happen next.

This was a really good darker academia read.

Having magic set in the real world and exploring secret societies was really interesting.

I cannot wait for the next book to come out because that ending was a real cliff hanger!

A Court of Silver Flames follows Nesta on her journey of healing, and it was beautiful.

If you've read the rest of the series, you'll know most people don't like Nesta, but this book made me love her.

I saw myself in her character and it was a shock, and also validating to see someone who is broken and mean be able to heal.

Definitely one of my favorite books in this series.

I just absolutely loved this book. Nevernight is definitely on the darker end of the spectrum for books, which is right up my alley. It has everything I love in it: magic 🌌, a strong sarcastic female protagonist 💁‍♀️, and assassins 🗡⠀

This book is not for younger readers. I want to highly stress that this book is for ADULTS ONLY. Very graphic right off the bat. If you don't like blood and gore, this mag not be a book for you.

I loved this book more than I thought I would. I'm pretty sure this is one of the few books that discusses and depicts depression really well. Not only that, the diversity in this book was effortless and natural. ⠀

I didn't expect these topics to be in The Storm Crow, but I'm glad they were. It brought up important topics while creating a great story 📖⠀

This book has such a diverse set of characters despite focusing on Chinese culture. Each character is unique and has you on your toes while reading.⠀

Like seriously y'all, I think I like this book more than all of Maas's (or is it Maas'?) books! I mean she is my favorite author, so I guess it doesn't really matter. Her 3 series will always be my favorites and my first recommendations to people.⠀
