God has called us to live holy lives, not impure lives. Therefore, anyone who refuses to live by these rules is not disobeying human teaching but is rejecting God, who gives his Holy Spirit to you.

Make it your goal to live a quiet life, minding your own business and working with your hands, just as we instructed you before.

1 Thessalonians 4:7‭-‬8‭, ‬11 NLT

Drawn Near In the wake of the coronavirus, retrieving something from my safety deposit box required even more layers of protocol than before. Now I had to make an appointment, call when I arrived to be granted entrance to the bank, show my identification and signature, and then wait to be escorted into the vau...

Zechariah 4:10 kjv

For who, hath despised the day of small things?

Haggai 2:3 kjv

Who is left among you that saw this house in her first glory? and how do you see it now? is it not in your eyes in comparison of it as nothing?

As I consider today’s post about those who wander and my life today, I think back on when I was a child. I wandered off when I was about 17 years old, where I met my current husband and we had our first child when I was at age 19. My parents were frantic during the time that I was wandering, as I didn’t want them to know that I had become pregnant. We reunited before I had my daughter, but the time in-between was a tough time. I’m sure more so for my parents than for me. However, God had me to reflect back on that time and consider the ministry that He has called my husband and I to do together. God reminded me that though I was a youth and did not know the Lord at the time, I was about my Father’s business in starting my family. Just as Mary and Joseph did not understand what Jesus was saying to them about His Father’s business, my parents would not have understood that at the time. 🙂

You may have a child who’s “lost” or who has left the sheepfold. It doesn’t mean they are totally lost or won’t return to the sheepfold, eventually. God might have them on assignment. Just trust God that He, in fact as His Word says, will cause “…all things to work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.” Rom 8:28 KJV

Luke 2:41 Now his parents went to Jerusalem every year at the feast of the Passover. :42 And when he was twelve years old, they went up to Jerusalem after the custom of the feast. :43 And when they had fulfilled the days, as they returned, the child Jesus tarried behind in Jerusalem; and Joseph and his mother knew not of it. :44 But they, supposing him to have been in the company, went a day’s journey; and they sought him among their kinsfolk and acquaintance. :45 And when they found him not, they turned back again to Jerusalem, seeking him. :46 And it came to pass, that after three days they found him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the doctors, both hearing them, and asking them questions. :47 And all that heard him were astonished at his understanding and answers. :48 And when they saw him, they were amazed: and his mother said unto him, Son, why hast thou thus dealt with us? behold, thy father and I have sought thee sorrowing. :49 And he said unto them, How is it that ye sought me? wist ye not that I must be about my Father’s business? :50 And they understood not the saying which he spake unto them.

2 Cor 5:16 Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more. :17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. :18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given us the ministry of reconciliation; :19 To wit, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.
