My daughter said it all yesterday and I’m so proud of her, This is long but please take a minute to read it!

what some people need to understand about this whole situation at the moment is that it’s not just the virus that’s hurting people.
My dad works abroad as a close protection officer. And when I say abroad no it’s not all sunshine and beaches. It’s countries that are dangerous, for example Afghanistan & Somalia (who don’t have medical facilities to help people survive this virus like we do). Someone in my family is stuck in a dangerous country for god knows how many more months because some of you that are choosing to be selfish won’t simply stay at home with your immediate family and only go out for necessities. You can come back with excuses and sarcastic comments about seeing your friends for a chat and whatever else, is a necessity but the fact is it’s not. That can be done over the phone. I’m 18 and socialised with friends and family everyday before all of this so I understand the frustration in now not having any freedom to do that at all but now is not the time to be selfish and think about ourselves. Keeping a 2 metre distance is not going to protect you from each other, all it is, is a precautionary measure that slows the spread of the virus down. If one of us can do it then we all can. This may not mean much to you or immediately affect you but start thinking about people that have family members who they don’t or can’t see because they work for the nhs, police, fire brigade , army & essential shops. Please think about the fact that you deciding to see your mates after not seeing them for a week is stopping us from seeing our loved ones for many more months. The harsh truth is you’re the ones making people suffer in ways more than this virus is. Is it really worth it?
