So the short explanation is, the bank took on too many big deposits and it was caught by higher interest rates.

Now Silicon did what a lot of their rivals did and that was keeping a small amount of its deposits in cash, and used the rest to buy long term debt like Treasury bonds. Now these investments promised steady returns when interest rates remained low. When the Federal Reserve started to raise interest rates, their investments were less attractive as newer government bonds had more interest. When Silicon clients start to withdraw their money to fulfill their customers requests. Silicon had to sell some of their investments at a big discount.

As most people and including myself I use Google search. From an article I read 84% of the global search market uses google and 9% uses Bing. I have no clue where the other 7% is lol.

I feel like a lot of people need to see this. One of the main reason that people blow up accounts is because they don’t know when not to trade and force trades. Traders that trade full time don’t trade everyday! They may look at charts, but if they don’t see anything they will sit on their hands and wait PATIENTLY. There will always be another trade!

Sometimes you see spots on a chart where a candle has no body. Those candles are called dojis. A doji is an indecision candle where the price opened and closed at basically the same price which can often indicate a reversal.
