Tuesday will be ** 8 WEEKS ** this single stem of blue hydrangea from TJ’s has been alive and well. I know it’s just a flower nbd but I love me some hydrangeas! Especially ones that don’t die after 3 days. 😜😜

This is what I do when processing hydrangeas whether I get them from the wholesaler, TJ’s or my backyard….. When trimming the end I make a long cut along the stem on multiple sides with a sharp floral knife, you want to see the white fleshy inside, remove most of the lower leaves (they take nutrients and water from the bloom), dip the cut end into “quick dip” then right into hot (not scolding) water that has hydroflor conditioner in it. I get those two products at my wholesaler but they may be on Amazon. There are lots of hints about hydrangeas out there that prob work great. This is just what I do. And yes, this particular bloom is still in a very cold (45’) location AND is the exception to most hydrangeas. 🤷🏻‍♀️
