Easy Schezwan Paneer recipe
-Cut Panner In cubes, add some corn starch and coat them nicely.
-Shallow fry paneer in little oil and keep aside.
-Heat some oil and add diced garlic, sauté till fragrant for about a min
-Add your choice of veggies, I used green pepper and onions
-Add some sauce, water and sugar as per taste, I add little more because I like it a balanced sweet and tangy taste but it’s optional
-Once it all boils, add some corn starch mixed with little water to thicken sauce, keep stirring as you pour to avoid lumps
-Taste your sauce and adjust if needed here.
-Add your shallow fried paneer and scallions and give it good toss. Cool for 1-2 mins
-Garnish with more scallions and serve hot

Schools are back and so is lunch! Here’s what I packed today. It’s simple yet fun for kids. I also packed some corn soup for a cold day on the side.

Breakfast for lunch? I will take that anytime! Sometimes I can’t think of what to make for lunch that’s quick, delicious and healthy! My go to recipe is an veggie omelette.
Recipe- Eggs, Onions, green peppers, coriander, diced green chilli, salt, pepper, turmeric, onion powder and some milk to make it nice and fluffy.
For side of seasoned potatoes, I just boil them for 10 mins ( do this while I am still working) and throw it onto the skillet with some oil, salt, garlic powder, oregano, basil and parsley and let it crisp a little while I make my eggs.

Easy nutrition lunch today. Grilled cheese on whole wheat bread, cucumbers, tomatoes and blueberries. As special treat added a munchkin. I often include on treat when I add some veggies on side to encourage them to eat everything in the lunchbox. The rule is, finish everything else first and then get to the treat or loose it next time! Works for us 🙌🏼.
Protein packed lunch today. These cocktail samosas are made spiced split chickpeas! They are not spicy at all making it a perfect to go lunch for school.
Tip - I spray the samosas with some oil and pop them into the air fryer for 20 mins then go about making breakfast giving it time to cook and cool down before I put in in lunch box.

Yes, I said it. Eating sweets it’s totally ok when done in moderation. If your goal is to get your kids to eat everything that your body needs to thrive, it needs to include ALL foods and that includes 🍫!!
Let’s face it, we like it or not our kids will ask for candy, if we don’t give it to them, they will hide it from us and still have it. There is no escape to that but what we can do is help them learn everything is good as long as it’s done within a limit.
When we constantly only focus on healthy food and restrict sugary foods, this could lead to a fixation and an unhealthy relationship with food called “Orthorexia which is an unhealthy focus on eating in a healthy way” ~ read link below for more.

Reading with kids can be so challenging at times especially in school days when the buses are running late and they don’t come home till 4:30pm. By the time they shower and have a snack it’s 5:15 and doing home work, then dinner. How can we get cranky kids to read on a busy weekday “happily” 🙈🙈
Here’s what works for us. Right after dinner, I ask them to sit down and read 20 mins while I clean up the kitchen. If they talk while reading, they add 5 more mins, 2nd offense gets 10 more mins added. 3rd offense? Well that’s their lucky charm, lose TV time!! Successful reading time gets rewarded with 30 mins of TV time before bedtime provided it’s before 9 pm.
This works for me all the time! Give it a try and comment below if it worked for you, or what you use that works for your family.
Do your kids complain food is getting cold by lunch time even in a thermos hot container? This often happens when they have a later lunch and unfortunately we need to fill up lunches early morning.
Here a tip I use that works to keep foods warmer till lunch time. Fill the thermos up with hot water and cover it with lid. Let it sit for 10 mins, wipe and fill with favorite lunch!

When it comes to school lunches, I try not to pack something that I have to remind them to keep eating. Keeping it simple yet nutritious is what I go for.
Sandwiches I keep them very simple with just mayo, ketchup, cucumbers and pepper jack cheese. You can add your choice of meat but I avoid tomatoes and lettuce because it does tend to make it soggy by lunch.

Sharing my lunch idea that my kids love! My kids love having peas in a pod and such fun way to incorporate them in daily lunch at school and know lunch box will come back empty.
I also added a small brownie by . Super healthy with only 70 calories and 2 grams of sugar for happy mom and happy kids!
My kids love strawberry smoothie from . I pop them into the freezer when I wake up in the morning for at least 30-40 mins so they are nice and cold at lunchtime. Just get big box that has a pack of 32 from to have it handy whenever you need it.
For fruits I like to grab them from because they have smaller packs and I can pick a variety of fruits for the week and keep them fresh

Have you heard parents say “My kids only eat _____ on their plate? And that’s totally fine!
We should always serve them something née along with something they love and not force them to it. This way they are in control of what goes in their mouth. If they want Seconds of foods they like, serve it!
I used to use the approach where I asked my kids to finished what’s served to get more of what they liked. That didn’t work for us. Instead give them what they like and the pressure is off trying to force feed and they are more likely to try the new foods on the plate.
Maybe not the first time around but eventually, with consistency it did work! Give it a try and let me know what works for you?
💫 Remember to always serve something they like along with something new they will try.
Encourage them to try it. If they refuse, no pressure but serve it again next time. Consistency is the key. Kids need to see the same foods over and over again.
Try to Eat the same foods you serve them as well. I know it’s not always what we want to eat too but this did wonders for us in the long run.

I often hear parents saying “my kid will not eat this” or “they are picky.
The sooner we get our kids comfortable with eating all food varieties, the easier life gets for everyone. Stop thinking “my kids are different” or “my kids wouldn’t eat this”. It takes time, some kids learn faster, some slower but eventually with consistency, you will get there.
Follow some simple rules when training them to eat.
➡️ Never give snack close to lunch or dinner. This is not to be confused with keeping them hungry so they will eat whatever you serve.
➡️ Never get up to make their favorite food after you served the food on plate. Instead always serve one thing you know they love. Encourage them to eat both.
➡️ Stay Calm. They will push your button or you might be tired and just give up but you will be starting all over again. Even if they eat a little, let them. Little goes a long way and something is better than nothing!
➡️ Keep the portions small! Too much on plate is overwhelming. Asking for seconds makes kids feel they accomplished a task and encourages them to eat more next time.
➡️ Is food appropriate for age? We can’t expect a 3-4 year to be able to stuff a huge burger. Serve a smaller size and keep ingredients inside a minimum. If it’s still hard, serve the ingredients/patties on side and let them have plain delicious cheese burger. Cut the patties in tiny bites. After all it’s all going in the tummy!
➡️ Check how they are feeling. Often when something is wrong they don’t feel like eating and that’s ✅. Remember how we feel when we are not feeling 💯. Let it slide, forcing is not getting is anywhere. Try again when they are feeling better.
