Belubula Bulldogs

Our passion for Bulldogs started almost a decade ago, when we became the proud owners of a French Bulldog Cross. It didn’t take long for us to fall in love with our Bully friend, and we soon found ourselves the owners of two more. In loving and caring for our boys we realised that life wasn’t as easy for them as it is for some of their canine counterparts. Breathing, dealing with both hot and cold weather, simple exercise, and swimming were all basic aspects of their lives that seemed to be limited by their physical makeup.

We decided that we wanted to breed dogs that were not so physically challenged, to ensure our canine friends would have the greatest quality of life both with us, and at their forever homes. Important to us in our search was finding a breed with a super friendly personality, love for family life as a companion dog, and hopefully some of those adorable Bully characteristics. After a significant amount of time and research we came across the Australian Bulldog, and it was practically love at first sight!​

Breed Foundations

The Australian Bulldog is a British Bulldog crossed with select breeds, such as the Bullmastiff, Boxer, and Staffordshire Bull Terrier. The introduction of these breeds aims to reduce the health issues found in British Bulldogs, whilst maintaining a Bulldog–like appearance and personality.

The Australian Bulldog is currently one of only three Foundation Registry breeds recognised by the Master Dog Breeders and Associates (MDBA, 2020). This highlights the efforts made by the Australian Bulldog Community over the past 30 years to continuously refine the breed and achieve consistency.

Master Dog Breeders and Associates (MDBA)

The MDBA was established in 2004. It is a peak Australian regulatory body servicing, representing and uniting a wide range of canine enthusiasts, including purebred dog breeders, dog welfare and rescue organisations, professional people working with canines and responsible pet owners.

The aims of the MDBA are to:

Provide a regulatory body to increase the standards of dog breeding, welfare, ownership and care.

Work in co-operation with government, animal welfare agencies, and other reputable organisations to provide effective and manageable policies for pet ownership and management;

To be strongly committed to the promotion of responsible pet ownership with a focus on animal welfare issues;

To promote, recognise and celebrate excellence in dog breeding and practices, animal welfare, ownership and animal related services, and

Provide an education system in all aspects of dog breeding, welfare, ownership and care.

Breeder members of the MDBA commit to abiding by a Code of Ethics and Conduct that is one of the toughest codes worldwide. This agreement places them in a position where they voluntarily agree to work to a standard not demanded of most others.

As a NSW MDBA Registered Breeder, we commit to adhering to the governing legislation and regulations designed to ensure the welfare of our animals is placed before anything else.

At Belubula Bulldogs the welfare of our animals is our utmost priority, and we want all our dogs to receive the loving and responsible care they truly deserve. We feel the best way to ensure puppy happiness is with your complete satisfaction. Everything we do is designed to breed the healthiest, happiest puppies possible, but we are not able to guarantee against things that can happen to living animals that are beyond our control. We can guarantee that your puppy will have his/her vaccinations up to date, have been de-wormed, will be microchipped for proper identification, and will be in good health at the time they go to their forever home.
