I inspire change by being sincere, humble and honest. I feel it’s the most underrated but the most important quality in any professional as well as personal life.

Meet Simrat Kaur .kaur

An Actor, Theatre Artist, and Drama Education Facilitator. Simrat has a demonstrated history of working in been in the field of Performing Arts practising theatre since 2013.

Simrat is now working full-time as a Drama-in-Education-Facilitator at the Kutumb Foundation.

On International Women's Day week, she talks about the way she inspires change around her. She says, 

“I try to be the change. I constantly try to unlearn the conditioning that our society has imposed on us. I try to speak up for myself and the people around me. And when I don't have the energy to do that I make sure I contribute to the system in some capacity or the other.”

“I reach for short term ambitions, these ambitions are related to just doing the things that I love. The things that gives me the most satisfaction and peace. I became a performance artist without a real plan. I started doing theatre and just continued every step of it because that was the thing that I loved. I didn't have a big long term dream of doing something amazing or big in the field, but I was just living and well being there, in the moment.”

Meet Shayonnita Mallik

A multi talented Media Professional, with experience in news content across television, digital and print platforms. A creative thinker with great experience in social media management and visual production.

“I inspire change around me by kindness. Looking into someone's eyes and believing in them, creating a safe space for them and helping them be kinder to themselves. People are so alone that they are fighting to survive every day, rushing to and fro from places they have lost themselves in. I help them see light, I believe in what they love, I give them hope and voice. If everyone is doing what they love—the change and goodness is sure to follow.”

“There is a quote from a controversial book that goes, "To say "I love you" one must know first how to say the "I"." One may not like the book or the writer, but it is important to remember that there must always, always be an _I_. Too many women choose to fulfill the roles they play over being who they are _first_. And that, is not fair!”

A strong-willed individual who's on a mission to destroy the glass ceiling with leap. Ragini has worked vigorously with great companies like Standard Chartered Bank, Trident Ltd., and Zomato.

“Realizing the different social and personal responsibilities for men and women, which tends to be more demanding for women in some ways, being ambitious is one quality I never let go of. “I am a nature lover, and my heart aches when I see our beautiful surroundings getting degraded. We all have read Mahatama Gandhi's famous saying, "Be the change you want to see in the world." I, too, like many others, truly believe it. I have started taking a lot of small, simple yet effective steps to contribute my cent towards preserving our mother nature too. For example, taking public transport, carrying my bottle wherever I go, switching off extra lights/fan, and many other things. I feel so proud when I see my little niece following a similar footstep. If we all can change our lifestyle in such simple ways, we would hugely contribute positively towards the future generations to come.”

“The change always begins from within & it is inevitable. There is nothing constant in life except something that keeps altering.
