Meet Simrat Kaur .kaur

An Actor, Theatre Artist, and Drama Education Facilitator. Simrat has a demonstrated history of working in been in the field of Performing Arts practising theatre since 2013.

Simrat is now working full-time as a Drama-in-Education-Facilitator at the Kutumb Foundation.

On International Women's Day week, she talks about the way she inspires change around her. She says, 

“I try to be the change. I constantly try to unlearn the conditioning that our society has imposed on us. I try to speak up for myself and the people around me. And when I don't have the energy to do that I make sure I contribute to the system in some capacity or the other.”

“I reach for short term ambitions, these ambitions are related to just doing the things that I love. The things that gives me the most satisfaction and peace. I became a performance artist without a real plan. I started doing theatre and just continued every step of it because that was the thing that I loved. I didn't have a big long term dream of doing something amazing or big in the field, but I was just living and well being there, in the moment.”

“There is a quote from a controversial book that goes, "To say "I love you" one must know first how to say the "I"." One may not like the book or the writer, but it is important to remember that there must always, always be an _I_.
