On the geeen overlooking the golf course. It’s a beautiful day for St. Patrick’s Day:
Drink warm water. Here is your health tip of the week from our Founder Dr. Noela Mogga.
The first thing to do when you wake up should be to during a glass of warm water. During my travels to China, I found that in all restaurants and public places, the Chinese offered hot water instead of ice cold water. The premise is that in Chinese medicine, balance is treasured. Hot water balances cold and humidity. Hot water is believed to promote blood circulation and toxin release.
The practice of drinking hot water was promoted heavily by Chinese officials after a cholera epidemic in 1982 in which they observed that people who boiled their water were spared. It was also at a time when clean water was not constant and boiling the water was a step in delivering purified clean drinking water.

Dr. Noela Mogga advises Black women professionals on how to find their voice to execute their authority. Black women and minority women voices are often stifled. Due to cultural forces, racism and patriarchy, many find it hard to exercise their authority via their voice.

My daughter Kamala, the academic genius who scores in the 99th percentile in all her exams. She is currently a sophomore. Medicine would have been a straight shot, I know, I tried. She wants to do animation and I fully support it. Now it is time to start the college application process. We ought to be bringing home some full scholarships to some Ivies.
This Mama bear is looking for a college application coach. Tips, advice. If you are a parent who recently went through this in North America, shoot me a message would you?
As a champion of health, Dr. Mogga advocates for colon cancer screening. Here are some recommendations from the American College of Gastroenterology:
What can we do to lower the 40% mortality rate for African Americans from colorectal cancer:
SCREENING and PREVENTION:
What does screening do:
1. Mortality reduction: reduces risk of dying by 16-33% compared to no screening. This is by detecting pre-cancerous polyps and early-stage cancers before they progress
2. Detection of early-stage cancer: by catching and removing early-stage cancers, your chances of successful treatment and survival are improved
3. Decrease in incidence: by detecting and removing pre-cancerous polyps. A polyp is a growth in the lining of the colon. Polyps take ten years on average to become cancer. Those who undergo screening decrease the incidence of cancer by 53% compared to those who don’t.

Colonoscopy is the preferred screening tool, according to the American College of Gastroenterology. A colonoscopy is a test in which a physician inserts a flexible tube with a camera at the tip, through the re**um and advances it the entire length of the colon. It is then withdrawn.
The advantages of colonoscopy include visualization of the entire colon, the ability to obtain a biopsy sample of abnormal mucosa(tissue), and the opportunity to remove polyps.
Colonoscopy for screening is recommended starting at age 45, and then every 10 years.
The frequency of screenings may be more often for patients found to have polyps, for those with a family history of colon cancer, or for any medical reason that a patient needs to have a colonoscopy.

Thank you Sis. Deirdre Rockeymore for this post from my talk to members of Bethel AME about the importance of colorectal cancer screening.

Colorectal Cancer: Prevention and Screening in African Americans. Some statistics from my talk:
1. Colorectal Cancer is the third most common cancer in the United States.
2. Newly diagnosed cancer cases in the United States each year total 151000.
3.Among African Americans, there is 20% higher incidence of being diagnosed with colorectal cancer compared to non-hispanic whites.
4. Colorectal Cancer deaths per year total 52,000
Of those, African Americans have a 40% higher mortality rate compared to non-hispanic whites.
(NOT only are we getting the disease at a higher rate, we are also dying from colorectal cancer at higher rates)

As MangoRV CEO I have vision and execute.
Last year Feb 2022 we attended the AustinRV show for the first time as guests. We learned about industry trends, visiting booths, saw new RV’s being sold. I decided then that we would attend the 2023 Austin RVShow as vendors, and not only that, we would hold a seminar for RV owners wishing to sign onto the MangoRV platform. And voila a year later we are in Austin executing on that vision. I felt a moment of pride seeing MangoRV name on the list. And thank you to my CoFounder and my VP of sales for making the vision come true.
See our team at work and our MangoRV booth details at the Austin RVShow 2023.
