The “springing forth” of the tide at every turn of the moon 🌊
We love the image this evokes: the cyclical rhythms + the chaotic forces of nature.
To us, this is an ode to the intermingling of regular bodywork, community and laughter as tools for self care.
Habitual massage can bring a sense of well being & resilience so that we can more easily ride the high and low tides of life; and here we believe that equally important to wellness are the larger experiences of belonging and joy. ☀️
We strive to bring these elements to our practice with our combined creative force as friends, creating a place where you can effortlessly belong & be your whole self 🌼

The debut of our space is here and we’re SO excited…
This gorgeous & welcoming studio on NE Broadway, right above Rooks Barbershop, is home to a collective of talented practitioners including and many more.
We feel very lucky to set up shop here and we can’t wait for you to come visit ✨

Who we are & how we got here.. 🌿
•March 2019: Mikaela & Anna meet at massage school, an instant friendship is born 🔥
•June 2019: Mikaela convinces Anna NOT to quit massage school (Anna soon realizes she’s exactly where she’s meant to be)
•March 2020: 1 year later a global pandemic closes school and devastatingly tears Mikaela & Anna apart
•July 2021: Anna moves to Minneapolis to grow her career and massage NCAA champions (and their teammates)
•August 2021: Mikaela learns Ashiatsu and also grows her passion for bodywork
•Dec 2021: Mikaela starts her own massage business and has a rewarding albeit lonely time (missing Anna)
•June 2023: Anna moves back to Portland and all is right in the world - an idea is born
•September 2023: a lifelong dream (2020-2023) of opening a massage business together is realized. Welcome to Spring Tides Massage!🌊
We are two water sign best friends who are so excited to build a business where we can be our authentic selves; pairing our goofy and artistic sides with our passion for creating an approachable bodywork practice where you can show up as you are.
