Wajir County is truly proud of one of our own Coaches, famously known as Shahshahlow Guhad, for being the Youngest Coach of the Kenya Inter-county Sports Association games, and a master tactician.

Guhad is truly appreciated for serving our County team with dedication and working with other coaches to guide our team with strategic ideas.

The future is indeed bright for our Wajir County coaching with passionate and patriotic Wajirians like Guhad at the helm.

Wajir County soccer team has this morning traveled to Tharaka Nithi to participate in the forthcoming 8th edition of the Kyisa games set to kick off on Monday 24th April.

The team was officially flagged off by the CECM Education, Social Welfare and family affairs Mwalimu Ahmed Mohamed Wardere who was joined by the CCO Sports, Youth, and Talent Adenweli Hanshi

Wajir County FC, drawn from various teams in the County, also received sets of uniforms, boots, and training materials which they shall use during the highly competitive week-long games.

CECM Wardere and CCO Hanshi wished the team success as they challenged them to represent the county in the best possible manner at the national event and make Wajir proud as they interact and bond with sportspeople from other counties.

CECM EDUCATION HOSTS WAJIR COUNTY SOCCER TEAM

CECM Education Social Welfare and Family Affairs Ahmed Mohamed Wardere accompanied by Chief Officer Youth Sports and Talents Adenweli Hanshi hosted the county football team at the Department of Education offices ahead of the Kenya Youth Inter-country Sports Association (KYISA) games.

Mwalimu Wardere took the opportunity to congratulate the players who made it to the final list to fly the Wajir County flag during the championship which shall be staged in Tharaka Nithi between 22nd and 30th April 2023.

He reaffirmed H.E FCPA GOVERNOR AHMED ABDULLAHI's unwavering commitment to promoting sports and talent in the County. Mr. Wardere promised the team that he would personally accompany them to see and cheer the team to victory.

Wajir County Football team in high spirits ahead of Kenya Youth Inter-country Sports Association (KYISA) games.

Wajir County Football team, which has been finalised after rigorous selection process under the tutelage of trainers from the Department of sports, and Wajir FKF officials assisted by fitness tactician Sergeant Ken

Morale is high in the camp after weeks of intensive training as the team prepares for travel to make Wajir County proud in the forthcoming eight edition of KYISA games to be held in Tharaka Nithi from 23rd to 30th April.

Despite observing fast during this holy month of ramadhan, Wajir County team staged its first friendly match where it beat Block FC 3-0 during an exciting tie played at catholic primary school ground. The players expressed support to the county government after receiving kits including balls and bibs to boost their preparations.

On his part, the Chief officer for youth sports and talent Mr Adenweli Hashi encouraged the players and wished the team success in the forthcoming competition.

The selected players completed their identity and documentation verification at Huduma Centre to fulfill the KYISA participation eligibility requirements ahead of the championships.

Mr Hashi explained the objectives of the championship to be among others” Competition amongst county, showcasing their talents, fostering National integration and promoting sports tourism.
