"Culture may have forced God and science to part ways, but childlike wonder brings them together again. [These books] invite kids and adults alike to find a new kind of awe for the world around us and in so doing to find a new kind of awe for God too!" - Jay & Katherine Wolf

"Before I formed you in the womb I knew you." Jeremiah 1:5

When Jesus was here on Earth, He did a lot of healing. People with sickness of every kind came to Him. One day, four friends tried to carry a paralyzed man to Jesus. But there were so many people gathered in the house where Jesus was that they couldn't even get inside.

Instead of giving up, they climbed up on the roof, cut a hole, and lowered their friend down -- right in front of Jesus! (Luke 5:17-26)

Jesus did heal that man, but first, He did something even more important. He said, "Your sins are forgiven." Why? Because the sickness of sin -- all the wrong things we've done -- is much more serious than any sickness of the body. Jesus came to heal us of all our sin!

"God, when I get caught up in wanting more and more stuff, remind me of what is really important and what will last forever. Help me focus on getting rich in the heavenly treasures that come from following You."

"Accept my teachings and learn from me, because I am gentle and humble in spirit, and you will find rest for your lives." Matthew 11:29 NCV

Have you ever heard the saying, "Monkey see, monkey do?" It means we tend to do what we see other doing. It's actually a pretty good way to teach -- and not just for monkeys!

Watching and learning works for us humans too. That's why Jesus came -- so that we could watch and learn the way to live, the way to love, and the way to heaven.

Read your Bible, "watch" the way Jesus did things, and practice them for yourself! Jesus is the world's greatest teacher.

What Scientists Don't Know

Scientists have discovered a lot of amazing things, like how fast the Earth spins and how far the Earth is from the Sun. They know how to build rocket ships that blast into space as well as submarines that travel through the seas.

But there are countless things scientists DON'T know. Things like...how many stars are in the Milky Way or how many galaxies are in the universe. Why are there so many things scientists don't know yet? Because God created this universe -- and everything in it.

There are so many things about this world we will never understand. But we can understand that God loves you and me and only wants the best for us. We can trust Him always!

"I am over the moon happy with How Great Is Our God: 100 Indescribable Devotions About God and Science. It is perfect for my 8-year-old nonfiction, science-loving, God-fearing son.

The format is brilliant. The author uses science to prove God's majesty and show how miraculous God is without saying science is wrong. Plus, each devotion includes references to a Bible story, along with a key verse. And, each devotional includes a science fact or exploration.

My son wanted to read it cover to cover immediately upon receiving it. As a mom and a children's ministry leader, I cannot recommend this book enough! It is fantastic!" -- Jen C.

We’ve all felt it. That pressure to follow the crowd, to fit in, to do what everyone else is doing. It’s called peer pressure. And we humans aren’t the only ones who feel it. Some animals do too!

In a group of whales in New England, one whale started smacking its tail on the water before it gathered up fish to eat. Soon several other whales copied its tail-smacking ways.

God wants you to be like Jesus, not like everyone else. And who knows, when you stand up and do what’s right, someone just might copy you!

God is the One I am trying to please.
If I wanted to please men, I would
not be a servant of Christ.

✨On a clear night, if you look up into the sky, you can find a group of stars called the Big Dipper.

Look for three stars in a row— they form a sort of curved handle.
Then look for four more stars off to the side— they form a sort of bowl. The “bowl” together with the “handle” make up the
Big Dipper!

Now imagine that that curved handle just kept curving on
around— that curve will lead you right to Arcturus -- a red giant star that scientists believe is nearly 25 times the size of our Sun. WHOA!

🐪 Camels were perfectly designed to live in the
desert. That big hump? It stores fat that lets the camel go for up to a week without drinking and for several months without food. 🐫

And you are perfectly designed to be . . . you. Just as a potter
shapes his clay into the vessel he wants to make, God designed you with a plan and for a purpose—to love Him and to love others. And He gave you special talents and abilities so that you can live out His purpose for you—in a uniquely you kind of way that no one else can do!

How many of these "facts" have you heard?

🐘 Elephants drink water through their trunks like a straw.
🐸 Touching a toad will give you warts.
🐃 Bulls will charge at the color red.

As it turns out, they aren't true! We hear some things so often that we start to think they must be true. But the thing is, this world--and the Devil who roams around in it--likes to lie. Things like..."You aren't important, or You're not good enough..."

But you don't have to believe it! Arm yourself with God's truths by reading the Bible every day. Then you won't be temped to believe the lies.

Did you know that it takes a lot of different muscles to make all those serious, SMILING, and silly faces?! 43 different muscles in ALL!

And while scientists don't agree on whether it takes more muscles to smile or to frown, there's one thing we can all agree on -- a smile is much more beautiful than a frown!

"Your happiness will show in your eyes." - Proverbs 15:30
