qToggle
qToggle is a way of interconnecting sensors, actuators and other devices.
qToggleServer 0.21 is out with support for adopting devices: https://github.com/qtoggle/qtoggleserver/releases/tag/version-0.21.0
qToggleServer 0.20 is out with many app fixes and improvements: https://github.com/qtoggle/qtoggleserver/releases/tag/version-0.20.0.
How is qToggle different from other solutions?
While other similar solutions try to accommodate a very large range of devices, along with various many technologies, qToggle works with a selected list of devices, imposing a unitary API, firmware and so on. There is, of course, an obvious disadvantage to this approach: many of your favorite devices probably aren't supported. However, here are the reasons why we decided to go this way:
* open source firmware
* NO hacks and NO 3rd party hubs or clouds are required
* devices speak the same language (API
* all devices are controlled the same way.
* add-ons to provide bridges and quick adaptation layers to new devices

qToggle works by leveraging the power of a flexible API, which lays the groundwork of a simple, common communication scheme.
qToggle attempts to impose a standard that allows managing, provisioning and talking to devices. Rather than reinventing the wheel, qToggle makes use of existing, widely used, technologies, such as RESTful APIs on top of HTTP, passing over data encoded as JSON.
