Music is a mirror in which we can see the best version of ourselves. Two Hours to London is a song Daniele lives in Pisa (Italy) and Alex lives in London UK.
Two Hours to London is a duo of musicians / songwriters: Daniele Lanni and Alex Paolillo . Their friendship and music collaboration dates back to 1992, when the two teen agers used to play together in a local band - Daniele is a drummer and Alex a keyboard player. Since then they kept playing together through different band projects - both covers and originals - across different genres ranging fro
m acid jazz to pop-rock, thus honing their skill at playing their instrument as well as producing and songwriting. The collaboration was forced to a stop in 2001 when Alex moved to London and the two started pursuing separate music projects. But their friendship never stopped. If anything, it got stronger, powered by their shared love for the beauty of music and its inspirational energy. The idea that music provides a mirror in which we all can see the best version of ourselves is a notion shared by the two. Over the years Daniele and Alex had overlooked the possibility of a “remote” collaboration, with the two on either side of the Channel. But in 2020 the lockdown swept in and forced everyone to rethink their way of life and find new ways of staying proactive and creative. That’s when the thought of a music project with thousands of miles between the two became possible, and the collaboration re-started. At first in the form of either man lending their instrument on pieces written by the other, and then writing music together as a team. Two Hours to London is our project. With one goal: making music that we are proud of, hoping it could be your personal mirror and help bring out the best part of You.
