The Dornier Do 17 twin-engined light bomber produced by Dornier Flugzeugwerke took its first flight on 23 November 1934. The Do 17's combat debut came in 1937 during the Spanish Civil War while operating in the Condor Legion. A total of 2,139 would be built.

A British Mark IV (Male) tank of 'H' Battalion, 'Hyacinth', ditched in a German trench while supporting 1st Battalion, Leicestershire Regiment near Ribecourt during the Battle of Cambrai which began on 20 November 1917.

A column of German Panzer III tanks in Rostov, after the Germans captured the city on 21-22 November 1941. A Soviet counterattack a week later would see the Germans driven out of the city and forced back about 100 miles westward.

Soldiers of the U.S. 5th Infantry Division entering Metz in November 1944. The city was captured by U.S. forces and hostilities formally ceased on 22 November, however, the remaining isolated forts continued to hold out.
