Even if you LOVE the esthetician, pay close attention to how your body feels when you see their stories, posts or reels.

It’s ok to mute them.

Actually? It’s necessary. The feeling of “not enough” is a REALLY hard place to take action from.

Working hard is how business grow. 💯

You can’t just scroll instagram and hope people book. 🫠

But hustling? Chasing clients that aren’t right for your business, having lots of discounts and low prices, working 10-12 hours a day on clients? 😮‍💨

That leads to burnout, resentment, and doesn’t make you money. 🙅‍♀️

Being intentional, having a marketing plan, a clear vision for your business, and working on your craft? That is what builds a profitable business.

Making money in your business is really simple, but often not easy.
The reason? You may be focusing on the wrong things.
You may be focusing on a beautiful Instagram feed.
You may be focusing on a high end website.
You may be advertising - and not getting any bookings.
You may be focusing on discounts.
What I've found? There are three reasons most estheticians aren't making money.
It doesn't have anything to do with Instagram, websites or advertising.
It has to do with three key things. I talk about them in today's podcast.

That usually means it wants to hold on to old beliefs really tight.

You may decide you need to raise your prices. But your brain is in fear that if you do, you’ll lose your clients.

You may decide to stop promoting “specials” or discounts in your business, but your brain is afraid you’ll have to find all new clients over night.

Just because your brain is telling you something, doesn’t mean you have to believe it.

Don’t get me wrong. Creating a discount here and there can be good at getting people in & creating excitement around your business.

But discounting regularly? It really attracts people who only want a discount and tend not to buy products.

I genuinely had no idea how to grow an esthetician business.
I looked to the solo esthetician business owners around me and always saw them do the same thing - discount - to get people in.
Why do people discount?
Because it can get people in the door.

Give your client a solution to their problem. Don’t just tell them that you can solve it. Solve it for them.

It’s the quickest, simplest way to grow your business.

Creating boundaries with your clients can be hard.

Scary.

Overwhelming.

I’ve found that if you approach every boundary conversation with kindness, empathy & clarity, it tends to go a little smoother.

Boundaries can be hard to navigate.

Boundaries? They’re for you. You don’t necessarily even have to tell them to your clients.

They need to be for you, you only.

I think this is why boundaries often get a bad wrap.

Boundaries? They actually have nothing to do with the other person. Only you.
