I would appreciate your vote in the upcoming election. Here is a little information about why I am running for the position.

Hi, My name is Phil Davidson and I am running for the Papio-Missouri River NRD Board of Directors representing District 11.

I am a longtime resident of Bellevue and a graduate of Bellevue West High School and Bellevue University. For the past 23 years I have worked for the City of Bellevue, most of which in the roll of Community Relations Coordinator. In this roll I have seen the good work that the NRD does in good times and in bad. I am a very community minded individual. I have previously served on the Bellevue School Board for four years, including 2 years as Board President and currently serve as the President of the Board of Directors of the Bellevue Community Foundation.

In the last 10 years we have had several major flooding events in our area culminating with the historic flood of 2019 which we are still dealing with here at City Hall. I have worked with the City of Bellevue, the Papio-Missouri River NRD, Sarpy County, Offutt AFB, our Federal Delegation and many others on all three major flooding events over the last ten years and I have become a huge fan of the work the NRD and its partners have done to keep the area and local communities safe. We know we can depend on the NRD when times are tough and I want to be able to support their efforts moving forward.

Additionally, I have seen first hand all of the good work that the NRD has done over the years, when times are good. The efforts of the NRD to work with local communities to strengthen the Riverfront areas of our community while providing trails and other recreational activities are of significant importance to this entire region. These activities bring much need economic benefits to these areas while promoting recreation and the great outdoors!

Finally, I realize how important the Papio-Missouri River NRD is to the Planning and Flood Control of our area. We live in an area that has many rivers and creeks that have a tendency to flood, as we have learned first hand over the past several years. I know that the NRD, under the leadership of John Winkler, work everyday on flood control methods that have the potential to protect our community. I would be a strong proponent of these measures and can't wait to jump in and see how I can help.

The Papio-NRD is a strong organization and I am running for the position to be supportive and help make it stronger. I feel my background would be an asset to the board and I ask for your support in the November election!
