I LOVE creating landscapes. This mixed media piece has cloth, paper, string and acrylic paint. It is one of my larger paintings and it makes a statement in the sitting room where it now resides!

Well folks, I got to deliver this phabulous pheasant piece today! It truly brings me joy to reinvent a photo, memory, or concept. Kelly is da bomb for commissioning this beaut for her husband’s new office space!!!!

FRAME DAY.

I love the process of creating a panel. It’s the perfect time to JUST MAKE. So many times, art can become convoluted with “concept” (not to say that artist message is not important) and we forget about the joy of creating.

As I evolve, I am not hesitating anymore because an idea I have may not be worthy of becoming art. I’m unapologetically making.

Today my PIC is my sick kiddo who has been resting in our pop-up camper that is airing out from the long weekend while I make. The flowers near the saw are from her 🙂

Happy Thursday! Let's talk creative process. I find myself in phases of creating. I have three beautiful babes that I also have the privilege of pouring my creative energy into each day. Honestly, I have been "working on" this betta fish painting for two months now; but I have found myself drawing portraits of my family with my four year old instead. So for the next couple weeks you may find me on my deck with my littlest loves. I am starting to think that is all part of the process.
