Learning opportunity: How many different types of cherry tree are there? Here in Vancouver they are blossoming 🌸
Lesson plan ideas or just some fun with your family: for biology, learn about the different varieties of cherry tree; for math, learn the number of petals on a blossom to estimate the number of petals on the whole tree; for social studies, look at the culture history and significance of cherry trees both in your city and in other parts of the world. And try to do some of this outside in the fresh air!

Blueberry Fig brings together learning, communication, and design. I and my local community live and work on the unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples, including the territories of the xʷməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish), and Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations.
Through Blueberry Fig, I offer tutoring and coaching (K-12, post-secondary, learning differences), workshops, education consulting, and custom learning resources.
Behind the scenes, you’ll find me, Lydia du Bois (pronouns: she/her/hers). I am a Vancouver-based educator and designer. I aspire to bring enthusiasm, commitment, love, diligence, and creativity to everything I do.
I am design-minded in all my work, whether thinking about family routines and classroom dynamics or the shapes, colours, and textures of interactive learning resources. In my experience, clients of all ages appreciate earnest devotion. Children in particular learn better from resources made by someone they know – or better yet, made by the children themselves!
