“Longevity has two components. The first is how long you live, your chronological lifespan, but the second and equally important part is how well you live—the quality of your years. This is called healthspan...”

According to Peter Attia, “Just because your parents endured a painful old age, or died younger than they should have, I say, does not mean that you must do the same. The past need not dictate the future. Your longevity is more malleable than you think.”

I decided to revive this page and turn this into something like a commonplace book where I can document the things I've been learning about and share it with everyone as well.

Since July, I have been reading Peter Attia's book, Outlive: The Science & Art of Longevity. I've become interested in health topics, particularly the idea of hacking your body to prepare for old(er) age. If you're the type to listen to podcasts or watch a lot of YouTube talk shows, it's quite likely that you've already come across Peter Attia. His book came out last April and I got my hardcover copy sometime in June.

I will be posting here some of my highlights from the book. If you're interested in the topic, perhaps you'd like to read along as well. (But no, this page will NOT turn into a book club. Don't worry.)

The last Meet the Fresh episode is six weeks old. In case you're wondering, I am still working through personal stuff but I am also thinking of making some changes to how I do this talk "show".

One of the changes I am looking at is recording episodes instead of doing them live. This would enable me to get more people as guests since we will not be constrained by a fixed schedule. This will also allow me to "stock up" on episodes since I can record interviews more than once a week.

The only drawback is that we losing the interaction with the audience. It has been fun getting comments real-time and audience questions have helped make the discussions more interesting.

What do you guys think? I keep on changing my mind on which approach is better.

16/09/2020

Hello, everyone!

Thank you for watching the past episodes of Meet the Fresh. This little project started on a whim but I am proud of what I've been able to show so far.

Meet the Fresh will be on a hiatus in the meantime as I figure things out.
