Graphic design is a meticulous craft involving a keen eye for detail, especially when designing elements for websites. Every aspect, from buttons to typography, requires careful consideration to ensure a cohesive and effective design. Here are a few of the various elements that demand attention. The next time you look at a button on a website, study it more carefully to see if you find a detail you have never noticed before!
Once again, my job takes me to some pretty cool places. π₯°

A picture is worth a thousand words, so use high-quality images that capture your brand's essence and the message you want to convey. Whether it's photos or illustrations, ensure they're relevant and visually appealing.
Don't overthink it! Clean, uncluttered designs are often the most effective. Think of your design as a clear path for your message to reach your audience. Too many distractions can make them lose their way.
Every business has a personality. Are you playful and fun or professional and sophisticated? Your designs should match your brand's unique voice and resonate with your target audience.
We love working with small businesses! This project was incredibly special, and we were thrilled and honored to be a part of it.π₯°

I had the incredible opportunity to help a brand-new business with the design of its new logo! If you're ever in Pulaski, VA, be sure to check out Broussard's General Store! (opening soon!)
This project wasn't just about making a logo but about breathing life into the store's essence. They wanted a design that reflected the rustic charm of the region, the warmth of their community, and the dedication they have poured into making this business something special.
Logo highlights:
The logo features a small sunrise element, a nod to the breathtaking beauty of southwest Virginia. It symbolizes a new day, welcoming customers with peace and serenity. This store is a beacon of warmth and opportunity like those early morning rays peeking over the mountains.
Everyone knows the power of a friendly canine companion; our furry friends are very important to these business owners. So, we incorporated a lovable dog into the design, representing the loyalty and trust that are the backbone of any successful business. It also adds a touch of playfulness, hinting at the welcoming and vibrant atmosphere the store fosters.
More Than Just a Logo:
This logo isn't just about looks; it's about connection. It reflects the store's desire to build strong relationships with its customers, becoming more than just a place to shop but a community hub.
Your Vision, My Canvas:
Working on this project reminded me why I love collaborating with local businesses. Every brand has a unique story, and I'm passionate about turning those stories into meaningful visuals.
So, if you're a business owner with a burning vision, let's chat! I'm eager to hear your story and translate it into visuals that truly capture your essence.
In a digital world filled with artificial intelligence and sites dedicated to the mass production of cookie-cutter designs and logos, I find it more important every day to step away from the screen for a bit and get lost in pages filled with designs that shaped our world, accompanied by a notebook, and a pencil.

Why is strong brand positioning so important? It will set your business apart from the competition and create a clear understanding of what you offer and why people should choose you!
One of the essential elements of brand positioning is consistency in your visual identity. What is "visual identity"? It means using the same colors, fonts, and imagery style across all marketing materials, from your website to your social media accounts.
But it's about more than having a visually appealing brand. Your positioning should also reflect your unique value proposition and your target audience. Consider what makes your business stand out and how you can communicate that effectively to your target market.
Whether you have been in business for a while or have just started a new business, take the time to refine your brand positioning and ensure it's reflected in all your design choices. Your customers will appreciate the clarity and consistency, which will help you stand out. Let us know how we can help you reach your branding goals!
Concept to Reality: Challenge Coins
I love to see the finished results of what I design! This project was a lot of fun! After I came up with some initial design concepts and mockups, the final design was picked, the files were formatted, and then sent off to become a tangible item.
If you have an idea or a concept, we can help you turn it into a reality!
Happy first day of Spring!
It's easy to hit a few roadblocks and decide that the dreams and goals you are pursuing are too difficult. But you never know; the day you choose to give up might be the very day everything was about to change.
We had an amazing time at the Womenβs Leadership Conference yesterday! Thank you Montgomery County VA Chamber of Commerce for making this happen. Inspiring day with incredible people!
Happy Valentines Day! Hope you all get some sweet treats, pretty flowers, and cards with decent fonts! π
It's always a good day when you can collaborate with fellow creatives and small business owners! Thanks for having us Blouse House Creative!
This past year we had the absolute pleasure of working with the Atmospheric Flight Technical Committee of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics. We created a short video that briefly describes who they are and what they do. Fascinating stuff! We were so happy to be a part of this project!
AIAA A brief explanation of the AIAA and the AFM TC (Atmospheric Flight Mechanics Technical Committee).
An awesome business owned and operated by awesome people!
We are absolutely thrilled to be working on this event again this year, and we've put together a little promo! If you have an event, idea, or business that needs a little design magic, let us know how to help! We would love to work with you!
Did you know that it's been forever since we have posted anything on our page and we need to do better about that?
Also, did you know the Helvetica font is one of the most widely-used fonts in the world? There's even a documentary about it (and graphic design) and it's not as boring as you might think! If you ever have an opportunity to watch it, you should!
βGood design is actually a lot harder to notice than poor design, in part because good designs fit our needs so well that the design is invisible, serving us without drawing attention to itself. Bad design, on the other hand, screams out its inadequacies, making itself very noticeable.β

Graphic Breakdown of Famous Logos - Core77 I stumbled across this gallery on Facebook featuring graphic breakdowns of famous logos: While there's no page numbers, these do look suspiciously like pages of a book. If anyone knows that it is, please let us know so
On average, a person can see up to 16,000 advertisements, logos, and labels in a single day...that's a LOT! From t-shirts with graphics, a tube of toothpaste to ingredient labels on food packaging, and the app icons on your smartphone - everywhere you look, you see the work of a graphic designer!
The famous tea company, Twinings, has been using the same logo for over 230 years! That's quite a long time, making it the oldest commercial logo that has been in continuous use since it was created!
