A collection of transport photographs from Ben Godding
Having seen Ontime Logistics with the latest generation of FH today, I felt I could also show the older model of FH they used to run. These pictures were taken with 6 years between.
A Hatfield fleet with their lorries seen flashing around the area very often.
Before & After - M854 RRM
1) Jan 2008, M20, Maidstone, doing fridge work with an unknown operator.
2) Jan 2022, B.P. Mitchell, Welwyn Garden City, 14 years after it was running fridges over to Europe and it's still good. Mitchell has operated it for about 9 years and it's remained a cool bit of kit.
V8 TTL (GD06 BNZ) - 16/07/2008 - M20, Maidstone
M854 RRM - Frobisher Way, Hatfield - 01/10/2020 - When a firm is maintaining a 25+ year old lorry, it's always a good sign. This still keeps the awesome sound of a 14 litre V8!
Started shortly after WWII, the history of this company is renowned. 7 decades later, it is still owned and run by the descendants of the founding Tolhurst family.
I myself worked for them for 3 years from the age of 18 to 21 before moving to Hertfordshire. I have literally thousands of pictures of their fleet!
Just to be clear, this is the company based on the Isle of Sheppey, can't you tell! It's so obvious which is which!
British plates aren't necessarily a dead giveaway either, since some of the Queenborough fleet were flagged in.
For any lorry nerds (Hi!), fleet numbers are a God-send for tracking plate changes.
I know there are 2 separate companies. This album if for the company based out of Lenham.
I have plenty of photos of the Queenborough side, though they're on foreign plates and I don't have a database to search my pics for those.
In stark contrast, I have photos of the FH12s at the end of their lives and several of their vehicles before they'd ever turned a wheel in anger.
W7 LEN (GD16 CNA) - Hatfield Ave, Hatfield - 25/04/2020. Thanks to Charlie Fulcher for allowing me to time my daily exercise for this opportunity!
With a large site in Harrietsham, Marley have always run lots of vehicles along the M20 where I used to take photos.
They had a brand new fleet in late 2007, leased from Fraikin.
A famous name amongst hauliers, in spite of the relatively small size.
AU08 AYN - M20, Maidstone - Bywaters had quite a few of these Ivecos, often unmarked, otherwise Whiteshield liveried - Oct 2008
I've met Hannah Bywater on at least one of my trips to their depot, the whole business always seems to have a very good atmosphere.
It shows since they have a long history of drivers putting their mark on their own vehicles and attending shows.
Fleet from the top of Detling Hill, they have always been immaculately turned out lorries. They are frequent attendants at truck shows, for obvious reasons.
Based in Sittingbourne, they have owned a cool collection of vehicles over the years.
Born out of BOC in 2001 and part of the Linde Group.
A selection of White's Transport from Minster, Kent
Before & After - GN57 HZZ (R8 DLH)
1) Apr 2008, M20, Maidstone with the initial operator Sparshatt's of Kent.
2) Jul 2010, M20, Maidstone, having been re-registered and painted in to Derek Linch's smart livery.
3) Jul 2011, Kent County Showground, doing event work with the DLH plate still on it.
4) Dec 2012, Aldi RDC in Chelmsford. An oblique angled photo but you can see it's back on it's original plate and with White's Transport of Minster.
It's still listed as on the road so there's always a chance for more history to be added!
German company with vehicles based all over Europe and beyond.

2) Sep 2011, Sittingbourne, decommissioned and resprayed.

A selection of Coulling Bros lorries, unfortunately near the end of their time.
I thought the best place to start with this page was the designated vehicles I have had in my career before I lost the licence to my ill health.
