Tunay nga naman na sa kabila ng mga “ayoko na” at “ang hirap na” ay may karunungan at kagitingan pa rin kayong tinatanganan hanggang sa tuluyan ninyong napagtagumpayan ang ikalawang taon ng kolehiyo sa Sintang Paaralan. Ang bawat lubak na daan ay hindi naging hadlang, bagkus ito ang naging instrumento upang maipamalas ninyo ang inyong katatagan sa pagharap sa bawat hamon at responsibilidad bilang mga Iskolar ng Bayan sa larangan ng ekonomiyang pampulitika.

Napagtagumpayan ninyo ang ikalawang taon hindi lamang dahil sa inyong mga angking galing at talino kundi dahil sa pagkakaibigan at matatag na samahan na pinagtibay ng mga nakalipas na taon. Muli, isa na namang hakbang papalapit sa inyong mga natatanging mga pangarap.

As we are a month away from the very much awaited Antler Awards 2023, we would like to provide you a briefer in the following awards and guidelines regarding nominating your chosen Lingkod-bayan.

For the student category, the Antler Awards 2023 has seven awards: Dunong ng Bayan, Linang ng Bayan, Natatanging Saliksik ng mga Lingkod Bayan, Lingkod Iskolar ng Bayan, Gilas ng Bayan, Gawad Mabini, and Five Faces of CPSPA.

The Antler Awards 2023 will also have a Dakilang Alumni award, in which alumni from Bachelor in Arts in Political Science, Bachelor in Public Administration, Bachelor of Arts in Political Economy, and Bachelor of Arts in International Studies under CPSPA are qualified in this category.

As for the faculty category, there will be Sinag ng Pamantasan: Student’s Choice Awards for Exemplary Member of the Faculty.

Lastly, students may also nominate their chosen public official with an exemplary track record to win the Natatanging Lingkod Bayan.

The Center for Filipino Youth Volunteers is a youth-led organization that focuses on providing an avenue for youth volunteers to engage with the different communities that our organization visits. Established in 2020, the organization has conducted various relief operations and community-based activities, helping over 1,500 families throughout the years. This year, the Center for Filipino Youth Volunteers together with the various organizations from the Polytechnic University of the Philippines launches another pilot program entitled, “SULONG Kabataan 2023: Pagsigla ng kwentong pinoy” on July 22, 2023, from 8 AM - 12 NN.

The said program focuses on providing value formation activities to the selected street children across specific areas in Quezon City, starting with Barangay St. Peter. The Center for Filipino Youth Volunteers would need partners and sponsors for the said event which includes the following: Cash donations, In-Kind donations such as school supplies, hygiene kits, Pinoy storybooks, toys, and meryenda and lunch for the children.

As the first semester ends, we BAPE 2-2 can say that we did it!

Despite the challenges we faced throughout the semester, we courageously did our best to accomplish our responsibilities as Political Economy students. The journey towards our goal is yet to be concluded. We may feel discontentment, frustration, and apprehension during our voyage. However, let us maintain our enthusiasm, look back, and realize how far we have come. A page fulfilled and unto the next one. With only a few years ahead of us until we throw our hats in the air, let us not fold before the inevitable obstacles. Instead, prove to them and ourselves that we can make it.

So as the 2nd semester begins, we wish each of us a productive semester. Again, congratulations, BAPE 2-2!

Binibini, kahit ang panlabas mo ay katulad ng katangian ng isang halamang makahiya, sa kalooban ng puso mo, taglay mo ang katangian ng rosas na hindi nagpapa-api sa kung sinuman.

Kaya binibini, taglayin mo sana ang katangian ng rosas sa bawat panahon na gusto mo ng maglaho katulad ng isang dandelion sa gitna ng pagdaan mo sa dilim ng reyalidad.
Umusbong ka sa kahit anong panahon na dala ng kalangitan,
Ikaw binibini ay isang babaeng ’di nagpapatinag sa bawat hamon

Kaya binibini, kahit nakaligtaan namin ng isang araw ang pinakamahalagang araw mo, sana ay tanggapin mo pa rin ang pahabol na pagbati namin sa iyo.

Ang nag-aalab mong puso katulad ni Magayon ay kayang magpasiklab ng magandang pagbabago sa kaniyang banwa.

Due to the heavy rains and strong winds brought by severe tropical storm (STS) Paeng, a lot of our fellow Filipinos are suffering and are in disarray. The continued burst of Paeng is expected to result in immense damage to the country's infrastructure and to the Filipinos’ welfare.

The PUP Office of the Student Regent will organize a 𝗗𝗼𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗗𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲 to help the victims of the calamity caused by Tropical Cyclone Paeng. As Iskolars ng Bayan, we are encouraging you all to be part of this to help not just our fellow PUPians but all Filipinos. As we lend a helping hand, may we all feel a sense of solidarity.
