So, I reckon I was too hasty with my other choices of Tune of the Year. Obviously the justly deserved Xenomorph by Pico Boulevard took the top spot but with glorious tunes like Gliding, Dear God, In your Eyes, The One True Morty and Society being contenders; what am I to do? I mean, how many other Tune of the Year's can one man possibly have???? Haha!

Well, one more it turns out. Umloud's No One Else has literally been the tune I have been waking up to in the middle of the night. No Spotify required. That vocal is just wonderful. Who is the artist to thank for those gorgeous tones? 𝙄 𝙨𝙬𝙚𝙖𝙧 𝙄 𝙠𝙣𝙤𝙬 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙫𝙤𝙞𝙘𝙚!!

On my Best of 2023 Part 2 mix I mixed out of Elysium - Beyond the Comfort Zone (Maor Levi Remix) into this tune and into MATAN CASPI - Some Kind of Way (Jordan Gill remix). Such a glorious moment that I keep enjoying.

Honestly 2023 was just perfection for me. Which is funny as I thought 2022 was perfection already! Haha.

I think I could only dream of making tunes this amazing but last year's resolution shall be fulfilled dammit!

THIS IS PART 3 of 3 of my Best of 2023 mix.

Part 3 is all about trance and a little techno. Starting from the magnificent Haven by Proteus and moving swiftly into more progressive trance, then onto techno, some banging trance tunes and then into a full uplifting vocal trance section; then finishing off with a Factor B section before ending with an encore. Damn, I forgot to play Sacrosanct. Sorry Will Rees.

I really hope anyone who listens to this loves it. I've listened back once so far and I certainly do.

THIS IS PART 2 OF 3 of my Best of 2023 mix.

As I said in part 1, my goes to Pico Boulevard for Xenomorph, played in this section of the mix. Both versions are awesome but I played the original in this mix. What a friggin tune!! The ALIEN nostalgia is just brilliant so that's why I love it. Plus it's a belter of a track. I would say the runner up is the Nomas remix of Pico Boulevard - Society. That is also amazing. I would also be remiss if I didn't mention Obie Fernandez absolutely sublime track Gliding. That was a serious contender for the top spot for me. Plus the latecomer of Effen - Dear God. Wow!! Oh and - Joof Recordings - The One True Morty. I bet you can see why this mix is so long now right? Haha! All of these tunes I mentioned are in this section of the mix.

My is also Pico Boulevard. His tunes this year have been amazing. I forgot to play Time Tripper and Retroplex in this mix so that's a shame. Some other time perhaps. So congratulations to Mr Pico. 🥳🥳🥳

As you can tell I download a LOT of music, again, in 2023. So this is my mix to highlight the absolutely incredible music that's been produced this year. Some were from earlier but I downloaded them in 2023 so I reckon that counts.

Being an end of year set, it's an absolute beast of a set and moves through all the genres you would have come to expect me to play, starting nice and slow and slowly but surely pushing late into the night to become a super set. I would absolutely love to play this out live but ah well. It was another set recorded offline late at night on one night and the rest the following day. Sorry for any mistakes - it was 2am when I finished the first part so I was absolutely knackered.

So my Best of 2023 mix is complete. The only problem is ... it's almost 100 tracks long! Which means the mix is over EIGHT HOURS long. A proper club mix basically. Think 10pm to 6am. Just how I like them.😁 It seems only fitting for an end of year set right?

The problem with being this big I don't have anywhere I can post it without deleting some of my previous uploads. Ah balls. So I may need to create a second Mixcloud account just for this mix.

I've listened back to the mix twice now and I am so happy with it. It's only about 10% of the tracks I downloaded in 2023 but they are the absolute standouts. I tried to bring it down to 50 but I kept thinking, I can't remove that! What about that track? There's no way I can remove that either as it flows perfectly into out out of this track. I know which tracks go well with each other and having to cut some just feels criminal to me. So yeah! It's 96 tracks long! 🤣🤣

It should have been bang on 100 but I forgot to play a few tunes when I was putting it together. My bad. 🙄

So, I'll work out where it's going to get uploaded to and then start the long and always time consuming and painful process of tagging all the artists and labels. Given the still absurd 50 tag limit with Facebook I'll probably have to do three posts so I can tag as many people as possible. It's seems unfair not to tag people as I dearly appreciate the efforts of everyone I have had the privilege of being able to play their music. I love you all. Thank you for what you do!! 🙏❤️

Since it is the last night of 2023 and I'm off to a party, I wanted to give a massive shout out to my Artist of the Year and the Tune of the Year.

Congratulations to Pico Boulevard for releasing some exceptional tunes this year with Society, Retroplex, Xenomorph and Time Tripper. The latter two seemed to have both flown under the radar unfortunately but I heard them and have played them many times. I just can't get over the nostalgia and pure POWAH of Xenomorph ...

That's why my tune of the year for 2023 is, you guessed it, Xenomorph by the man himself - Pico Boulevard. The runner up tune is the Nomas remix of Society - which is also an amazing tune that I can't stop playing. (I'll let Nomas know on Instagram asap.)

I'd like to give an honourable mention to Obie Fernandez for his track Gliding as this is a real slice of heaven. Honestly if I had categories for every genre then this would be my top pick for Progressive Trance. It's absolutely glorious. Jerome Isma-Ae's tune Eidos is equally as magnificent and really hits the mark with its beautiful melody and high notes.

I realise I haven't really published many mixes this year but the times that I have these three tunes were always in those mixes. Sure, there are many others, including In Your Eyes by DJ San and Sebastian Moore (who is that wonderful vocalist???), The One True Morty by Façade - Joof Recordings, Black Water by Alto Astral and so many other amazing tunes, like ERASE by Brooks Aleksander and Conscious Mind by Product Of Us - which incidentally mixes perfectly together with Xenomoprh for a seriously BANGING triple mix with Xenomoprh in the middle.

I know I'm just some guy who plays tunes occasionally, sadly rarely live at the moment, but I am so grateful to be able to play these tunes and my admiration and appreciation goes out to all the artists and labels that produced so much incredible music this year. I love you all.

I did it! I actually managed to get a set in!! Whoo hoo!! Albeit on Sunday night and it ended up being a late one but oh boy, it was so very welcome. Bucket filled.

This is another set inspired by JOOF Radio - except it's two this time, numbers 46 and 47 with guest mixes from the legendary Paul Van Dyk and the equally amazing artist Lampé. Both these sets were absolutely magnificent and, as is usually the case with John 00 Fleming's show, I find myself on Bandcamp and Beatport buying every tune I can.

Both these episodes were absolutely incredible experiences for me and merging them together to make one super set seems only logical. Plus I just watched Mission Impossible Dead Reckoning so I just have to add the awesome techno tunes by Anu and Brooks Alexander heard in the club during the film. Plus a few others that just work like the incredible Xenomorph by Pico Boulevard. Love your work mate.

I never thought I'd actually be able to say this again but I actually have a couple of cheeky ID's from some really cool producers that I'd love to play - however, one of them has now been released so ah well. I'll just play it as normal. Haha. Both were totally unexpected but so dearly appreciated. Love you guys!

Many of these tunes are in FLAC format thanks to Bandcamp. There's honestly no comparison so I'm really happy to have found so many artists music available on their site. It's well worth the money. No offence Beatport - I still buy plenty of tunes from you too.

A Set Inspired by JOOF Radio 46 & 47 This is another set inspired by JOOF Radio - except it's two this time. As the title states, numbers 46 & 47 with guest mixes from the legendary Paul Van Dyk and the equally amazing Lampé. Both episodes were absolutely magnificent and, as is usually the case with John's episodes, I find myself on B...

It's quite possible I may actually get a mix in tonight!! Haha! I've been saving up so many tunes and really need to just lose myself in some amazing and tunes.

This mix will be inspired by the amazing JOOF Radio episodes 46 and 47 with John 00 Fleming, obviously, plus guests Paul Van Dyk and Lampé. Both these episodes were absolutely incredible experiences for me and merging them together to make one super set seems only logical. Plus I just watched Mission Impossible Dead Reckoning so I just have to add the awesome techno tunes by Anu and Brooks Alexander heard in the club during the film. Plus a few others that just work like the incredible Xenomorph by Pico Boulevard.

I never thought I'd actually be able to say this again but I actually have a couple of cheeky ID's from some really cool producers that I'd love to play. Totally unexpected but so dearly appreciated. Love you guys!

Oh man, I'm looking forward to this one!! It's been months since I had a proper mix!! Let's hope it's not a headphones only set again. But even if it is, ah well, it's all about getting lost in the music for me. Hmm, it might be another massive journey set again! Haha!!

Many of these tunes are in FLAC format thanks to Bandcamp. There's honestly no comparison so I'm really happy to have found so many artists music available on their site. It's well worth the money. No offence Beatport - I still buy plenty of tunes from you too. ❤️

My idea of the perfect afterlife would be performing a never ending DJ set to a crowd of thousands, nay millions, of people with the most amazing sound system, lighting rig and setup you could ever imagine. Every time you play a track, the producer or artist appears in the crowd or in the wings to smile and nod then dance away or get on stage to give me a hug and sing the lyrics with me, if the tune has them obviously. Plus the crowd sings the lyrics too.

It just goes on forever without myself or the crowd showing signs of tiring. Day turns to night and night into day. No physical or audio fatigue, just wonderful tune after tune.

I reckon that would be pretty wonderful.

I guess that's what being a professional DJ is all about. I wish I could experience that buzz. 🥲

This is so freaking cool. Nomas not only liking my Legends Special dedicated to him but reposting it. Plus his lovely message to me thanking me for my support. He started this as a hobby too. So perhaps there's hope for this old fella yet!!

This is my Legends Special - Nomas & Friends. What can I say about Nomas? Ever since I heard his tunes being played on JOOF Radio I have been an absolute fan. Just like FUENKA, Nomas' musical style really hits the mark for me. His tunes and remixes have been amazing, especially with his collaborations with D.J. MacIntyre and Basil O'Glue. This duo have created some absolutely amazing tunes together.

So this is a mix dedicated to the awesome talent that is Nomas. Truly a musical legend, now and for the decades to come. I went looking for extra tunes for this mix and discovered Rain (his first ever tune) and Moonlight - the piano solo in this tune is truly wonderful; and Nomas' bootleg remix of 4-Strings - Take Me Away is definitely my favourite.

I would love it if more artists made an outro mix of a tune or two so I can, funnily enough, mix out on that track. But ah well. Falling Together worked well at the end.

Again, this was headphones only as my daughter was in my office with me so I couldn't play it through my speakers. I hope the play order hits the mark for anyone who listens to it. Man, this was a LOT of fun!!!!
