Sometimes a $5 bouquet of grocery store flowers is a simple and affordable way to bring a spark of joy into your life and home.
As my friend says, buy the flowers.

✨Cabin perfection right here ✨
Kevi .properties is the queen of combining modern elements with touches of vintage for texture and warmth. I’ve learned so much from her approach to natural and neutral design that is not at all boring.
properties has two cabins available to rent in beautiful British Columbia. Check them out if you’re looking for a trip to the mountains (or just gorgeous design inspiration)
Shopping second-hand is an affordable and sustainable way to add beautiful furniture and accessories to your home. And here’s a secret: it doesn’t have to look outdated!
I love following design trends and then hunting for items that have similar elements but carry a touch of uniqueness.
Swipe to see a few pieces I’ve collected for my own home.
Being organized is more than aesthetics. It’s about function.
Having a system that works for you and helps you focus on your priorities day in and day out is the whole point.
For some it might mean going to the gym every morning before the sun rises. For others, it’s a small corner of the basement.
Spend a few minutes thinking about your priorities and the steps that can help you get there.
My friend recently made a few changes in her home based on a design consultation we did, and it completely changed the feel of her space. She tweaked the lighting, added some plants and now has a living room she actually wants to spend time in.
What small changes can you make to create a huge impact in the look and feel of your space?
This weekend marked the end of the 12 days of Christmas which meant it was time to put away decorations at our house.
Taking a few extra minutes now to organize and pack these items away, makes things much simpler when we do it all over again next year. Each box goes to the right room and everything fits back in when it is time to put it all away.
If you struggle to find a system that works well for you - send me a message. I’d love to help!
The beginning of a new year has me dreaming about future projects for myself and my clients.
I keep coming back to this bathroom photo from . It has the perfect combination of modern updates and vintage charm. What magic!
If you are planning a small renovation or design updates in your home and need help working through the nitty gritty, I’d love to help you.
Happy New Year!
Thank you being with me on this journey of creating homes that bring us comfort, rest and resilience.

Wishing all my friends a joy-filled 2023.

✨ Design inspiration for your Thursday
The use of different lines and angles in this living space is remarkable. A piece of art in itself.
I’m thankful to learn new things from others in the same line of work, which I can then take and incorporate into my own work in my own way.
My favorite, already-have-at-home, accessories for creating a cozy space in these cooler months:
🍂 heavy throw blankets
🍂 extra pillows
🍂 candles & twinkle lights
🍂 warm beverages
🍂 natural fall foliage
Previously loved decor items can add a perfect touch of beauty and uniqueness to your home.
There are many ways to style sustainably. Choose the ones that work for you.
🌿 buy second hand
🌿 support local, eco-friendly businesses
🌿 choose natural materials over plastic
🌿 buy handmade items
🌿 buy with intention
I recently worked on a design board for my client and we both love how it turned out!
This house is going to look amazing. I can’t wait to see it come together.
If you need help pulling together ideas for your home, please send me a message!
✨BEFORE & AFTER ✨
Cosmetic changes can make a dramatic transformation. It doesn’t have to cost a fortune to take a musty basement corner and turn it into a cozy workspace.
These cool, Fall mornings and long evenings have me looking for a little extra light and warmth right now. I love this simple, romantic collection of candles and holders.

Happy first day of Fall! I waited until today to dig out some Fall decor and it was totally worth it. I’m shopping my home and cutting some branches to create a cozy space without having to buy anything new.
Enjoy the official start to a new season, friends. And use what you have to make your home unique.
Isn’t this garage dreamy? The most important thing about organization is finding a system that works for you, otherwise it won’t last.
Asking questions about your priorities and your lifestyle will help shape what system might work best longterm.
I’d love to work through this process with you. In the meantime, I’ll be over here scheming about ways to get my own garage to look like this.

I love how this basement living space came together for my friend!
✨BEFORE & AFTER✨
A quick cosmetic bathroom reno this past week with small, economical changes that make a huge impact. Scroll to see before.
Marie Kondo may not agree, but there is something to be said for surrounding yourself with things you love.
For me, it is nature and books. (Check out my instagram feed Birch & Linen for a pic of our home library)
To keep your space feeling fresh and not overly cluttered, keep only one or two collections, paying attention to which ones you genuinely care about.
Wishing you all a great weekend ahead to find your treasures!
As colorful as it gets in my house 🌿
✨ DIY BEFORE & AFTER ✨
This is a story about the evolution of a piece of furniture.
When we moved to Louisville 8 years ago, this table had been left in our rental house. It was sturdy but stained a mahogany color. I painted it white and then about 5 years ago a dark grey. It was time for a change.
After a few solid hours of elbow grease, sweat, and about $40 in supplies, we have a gorgeous updated table! I stripped, sanded, and applied a clear polycrylic finish.
Friends, remember to pause for a moment to look at what you already own before purchasing another piece.
Hydrangea season. One of my favorite things about Summer.
A collection of old and new items make a classic vignette with character.
Start with a foundation of what you already have and build slowly from there.
Back at my desk after an epic summer trip and it’s good to be back.
Gearing up for some amazing new jobs and work relationships in the second half of the year. Let’s do this!

The intentional way you design your home can also be applied to other elements in your life, like travel!
This week, I’m packing for a road trip to the West Coast! Each family member gets one duffle bag and one backpack, so space is at premium.
Planning ahead and considering what neural items I can bring to mix and match, helps feel like I have more outfits along than I really do.
Small changes with BIG impact. Swipe to see before.
Call me if you need some suggestions in your own home.
It was a privilege to stage this home for resale. Simple, inviting arrangements and attractive decor enable buyers to envision themselves in a new home, which is why this one is already pending sale after just a few days.

Summer porch weather at it’s finest.
Our unfinished basement, made as cozy as possible and ready for summer hangouts, movie and games nights, and sleepovers with best friends!
A cozy corner in my client’s home office. We found this gorgeous, velvet chair at and it adds such rich character to the space. Never underestimate the power of a good vintage treasure!
My client’s living room is looking so good! I want to curl up here with a good book.
✨BEFORE & AFTER✨ (organization edition)
My client moved into a new home months ago but with work and three young kids, hadn’t had time to figure out an organization system in the kitchen that works for their family. Knowing where things belong completely changes the cooking experience and saves times overall.
Nature - the greatest inspiration for my work and creativity. A place to stop and pay attention to what surrounds me. I hope you have a chance to breathe in nature this weekend. Happy Friday.

✨BEFORE & AFTER✨
This client wanted a refresh of her office space. We consolidated older furnishings, added some larger, grounding pieces, and bold color to give this meeting space the modern and cheerful feel that she was hoping for.
It’s Derby week in Louisville! I’m not usually an “equestrian decor” kind of gal, but this time of year I can’t help but get in the spirit. Also, my little lilac bush has bloomed for the first time.
I hope all my Louisville friends are enjoying this beautiful porch weather!
