Post fair report:

We survived! It wasn’t as busy as we had hoped for and we had to make some hard decisions to cancel a lot of our help. People coming to the fair said there isn’t enough seating, they wished the fair was still in September, and they could find us easier.

We had some amazing times! I prepared food for a local health inspector, who was the inspector that opened my restaurant. I remember her saying she doesn’t eat out at all!

Our neighbors were incredible! First we had some neighbors out of Richmond, VA who always kept us on our toes and always checked in to make sure we were ok. Due to low sales they left and a new neighbor came. This neighbor ended up being more like family. We would eat together, pick on each other,complain together, and laugh. I miss this neighbor already.

I got to spend time with family. If anyone knows me personally they know that spending time with family fills my soul. I got to see my aunts and cousins who I don’t see too often because of my work schedule and I was loving every minute.

It took 4 days to get our name out among the staff at the fair. I thank state trooper Reynolds for this. He used to come in my restaurant and came over when he wanted a walking taco. That lead to 2 other officers ordering quesadillas, then he ordered a quesadilla. Before we knew it the fire department loved our food and told us we were quickly becoming the talk of the fair.

We also fed the wonderful people at the Froggy radio station, including Scott! He also came back more than once!

All the York fair staff were friendly and incredible to work with. They made the entire process very easy.

This fair was rewarding on so many levels.

The best thing happened today… I had the pleasure of serving one of the York County inspectors. The inspectors are extremely picky and rarely eat out. I consider myself lucky!
