Bukigai market is the economic engine of Babukusu community farmers of bududa district.
This market serves many ancestral clans of babukusu ibuduuda community for a daily households income selling and buying mostly food, clothes animals and other goods.
The ancestral traditional name of this market is called Lwanda originated of the word "lulwanda" meaning a rock. This market started in 1945 as traditional market of traditional medicine, herbs and Food.
Lwanda market is located in bamatanda clan of Wabaka tribe of babukusu community in bukigai town council bududa district eastern Uganda and it's one the biggest traditional market in eastern africa serving goods to the following eastern african nations Uganda, Kenya, South Sudan Tanzania and Somalia.
