These are so good! Super simple to make also π
These muffins are really good and void of any nasty ingredients. Easy to make gluten free and dairy free. If you are allergic to peanut butter you could use sun butter ππ
Also I only use 1/4 cup maple syrup and I also use 1/2 cup white flour and 1 cup of wheat. Just to make them a little more healthy, totally optional!
Kale is all the rage for a reason yall!
Kale is high in vitamin K which is great for your hair. Wheat germ is also great for hair. Everyday I drink a smoothie with kale and wheat germ added and let me tell you I have noticed within the last month my hair looking healthier and thicker. Plants from the earth really are the miracle drug!
Get it your greens in somehow. Not just for your hair but for your overall health π±

I love frozen bananas in my morning green smoothies! But I always just peeled them and threw them in a bag, which resulted in me fighting to pull them apart π€¦π»ββοΈ
Then I read the brilliant idea of slicing them freezing them THEN throwing them in a bag and they wouldnβt stick together.
It works!!
Itβs made my mornings much better π

Do you make a weekly menu??
Making a menu helps me stay focused on healthy food and definitely saves me money as well.
You should give it a try ππ
Pills only help the symptoms and most likely cause unpleasant side effects. Wouldnβt you rather get down to the root cause and fix it there? Itβs usually poor choices in our lifestyle.

Recipe from Peanut Butter and Jilly
A smoothie can be a good way to get 2 servings of greens in a day.
I pack mine with 2 types each every time. 1 cup each of either kale, spinach, or collard greens.
I also like to add in flaxseed meal and wheat germ. Wheat germ is great for your hair!
I mix the two together in a jar and when I make a smoothie I just scoop out a tbsp. Makes it easy and quick!
The only downside to smoothies are they can pack on the calories and fat if you overload it. A smoothie can easily be 500 calories and do not keep you full very long. I switched from soy milk to almond milk to lower my fat content and calories. Although soy milk is higher in protein. I use one banana and 1 cup of fruit. Just switching out almond for soy I shaved off almost 100 calories.
If you want it to keep you full and be a meal replacement you could add in oats and that will definitely help your hunger! I do this from time to time.
Just something to mindful of if you are trying to lose weight.
Did you know potatoes are proven to be the most satiating food on the planet? With my favorite bbq sauce I could eat them everyday.
Did you know broccoli fights cancer? Give me all the broccoli π₯¦
Did you know legumes are proven to be one of the healthiest foods, along with whole grains and berries?!?
This is an excellent read. All of Dr. Gregerβs books are wonderful though.
I love how he talks about the protein craze we are in right now and how really itβs not helping us but harming us. Thereβs a lot of scientific research on why and how. The studies that promote more protein are paid for by the meat industry so of course they push it.
Getting more than the recommended daily amount of around 50g can do a lot harm to our bodies.
1. Weight gain (I can attest to that firsthand)
2. Increase cancer risk
3. Heart disease
4. Very hard on our kidneys and liver
And many moreβ¦..
We shouldnβt be focusing so much on just one nutrient. We need all of them to help our bodies function properly and keep us healthy.
I love a good Buddha bowl! Rice veggies and legumes with a yummy sauce make a delicious meal π€€
Carbs are not the enemy! No matter what youβve been told.
Simple carbs are, but not complex carbs.
Simple carbs are things like cake, cookies, bread, pasta, bagels, etc (which we shouldnβt eat everyday anyway, only on occasion)
Complex carbs are things like potatoes, oats, fruit, rice, etc (which we should eat everyday)
Carbs are what keep us energized and ready for the day! They are heart healthy and delicious π€€
They contain vitamins, minerals, and fiber. Most Americans do not get enough fiber and fiber protects you from so many ailments. Fiber is like tiny little scrub brushes cleaning gunk out of your intestines.
Eat your healthy carbs! They wonβt make you over weight, they are heart healthy!
The waffles are made of oats, bananas, vanilla, and a little plant milk.
Green smoothie includes collard greens, kale, bananas, mango, flaxseed meal, h**p hearts, and plant milk.
#1 question! βWhere do you get your protein?β I skip the middle man and go straight to the source! Gorillas are some the strongest animals and elephants are the biggest, and they are both herbivores. I donβt see them lacking in any protein π€
Plants have all the protein we need regardless of what youβve been told. Not only that but all the other wonderful nutrients we need as well. They help us stay well, nurished, age gracefully, protect us from chronic diseases like heart disease and even cancer (my husband is a living testimony to that), keep us at a healthy weight, give us energy, all the fiber we need (most people fall short of the recommended amount), help us sleep better, and the list can go on and on!
Dr Greger has a new book out called How Not to Age and itβs phenomenal. You should check it out!
Good morning! I have been neglecting my page and I want to get back at it π€
Please look forward to new content next month!
