Well, this looks about right 🙃🙈

This past week I was putting Bentleigh to bed, and she expressed her fears about burglars in the night.

I acknowledged her fears and told her that we’ve done our part (alarm system ✅ ) - and that Jesus wants us to cast all our fears and anxiety on Him. So we prayed.

Then she opened her eyes and said “… mom, I know Jesus loves us, but He still lets bad things happen.. even though I believe in Jesus - someone could STILL break in.”

And I know that she’s heard me say those words before - but I was so proud of her maturity to actually recognize and understand how that concept could apply to her fears in her life.

I reminded her that He does allow sad and scary things to happen sometimes, because He has given humans free will. But He is never surprised by something bad happening - He *never* says “WHAT!?! Noooo… that wasn’t my plan! I can’t believe that happened! Gosh, I guess we will just see how this plays out…” - which Bentleigh of course giggled pretty hard at, bringing a huge smile to her face and putting her at ease 🥰.

Thankful that this morning we could freely celebrate Easter, be reminded that we are not in control - we don’t know the whole story - but He absolutely does. (And even though Beckett was SO not convinced Jesus was fully dead in that tomb 😆) - I love how Easter has served as such a strong reminder that we indeed, serve a *living* and good, good God💗.

Last week the kid’s favorite “Easter” activity was me drawing a “paper doll” bunny + their clothes... and then decorating and cutting it out and dressing them. My drawing skills leave MUCH to be desired - but they LOVED it. And the conversation’s with them... priceless. 😂😶

I overhear Bentleigh tell Beckett “I can’t wait for Easter! The egg hunts and candy and baskets!!! It’s going to be SO great!”

I think she says things like this to get a reaction out of me.. because I typically I give a very “mom” response like “those things are great, but why do we really celebrate Easter?” She usually just 🙄.. But not this time.

My response: “YEP! Candy is WHERE ITS AT! There’s going to be so many goodies - it will be the BEST day!!”

You should have seen the look on her face when I said it. 😳🤣 She had a kind of shocked, amused, and proud look on her face. Like she’s met her match 😆.

She then turned to Becks and said “WELL... there’s so much more to Easter than candy, bub. That’s not *actually* what Easter is about... hey mom, can we read the story about Jesus dying?

Becks (stops dead in his coloring): WAIT. WHAT. Jesus dead?!

B: well, not ALL the way dead. Just kinda dead. Just for the weekend. It’ll be okay Becks, you’ll see. 🥰

INSTAGRAM 👉🏻 REALITY 🤪 6 year olds, man - amiright?!

This is my first posted and I have so many ideas for all the art carts to come 😍 in case you missed it this week, I shared a bit about how growing up my neighbor gifted me my own art cart that I kept until college (I remember every item in that cart 😭🥰) - and also how my dad built me an art room growing up. We rarely did structured activities (although there’s always a place for those!), but being given the tools, I always felt like I could walk in and the sky was the limit. I could create ✨anything✨.

Art is very special to B. It gives her a freedom that other activities as a little kid just don’t offer. I just want to tear up with pride with how proud I am of the big girl she’s becoming. ❤️

During nap time today, I’ll jump in stories and share what open ended art supplies I put in her art cart for this season. You may be surprised at how many of these items you may have already + that presenting them in a new and special way will spark your babes creativity! 🙌🏻🙌🏻

On a funnier note... my middlest babe told me yesterday morning that he wanted Costco pizza. I told him our car was STILL in the shop (thanks to the 🐁 🤢) and that we couldn’t get there. He proceeded to try and convince me to put them in the stroller and run us all there. Our Costco is 35 miles away. And not a flat 35 miles. We drive uppppp and dowwwwwn through the Central California (very big) hills. 😅 And when I tried to reason with him that a stroller run to Costco was just not physically possible, he INSISTED through tears that “you could TRY! You CAN do it mommy!! I know you can!” I told him if we left NOW we would probably make it there in a couple days and his response was “okay! I knew you could. Let’s go!” This conversation lasted AN HOUR! A.full.hour.🤣🤣 I so admire his perseverance, belief that mommy is a stroller pushing super hero, and love of Costco pizza. But that hour long debate wore me down, and I’m ready for Ben to tag in. Who can relate?!

“Love is...” sensory play this morning ❤️. Huge hit with my babes as they create their BFFs 👯‍♀️ out of playdoh and talk about what love *really* looks like. I love open ended play that also has a great topic to discuss! - sensory/motor skills ✅ verbal skills ✅ forever skills ✅ ...and now mixed up playdoh that only gives me slight anxiety 😂🥴✅

I love you TO INFINITY AND BEYOND! *Valentines, but cool* ... and 😎 our 3 year old, Beckett, has been asking for “me do school too, mommy?!” ... so I’m channeling all the things he loves lately! ‘Twas the night before Christmas (Eve), when all through the house not a child was stirring.. well, except for our elf. 🤪

The gifts have been (mediocrely) wrapped 🎁 and organized by name, and Mr. Christmas still searching for more blow ups, no shame! 🎅🏻

The pico has been diced, jarred, and wrapped in string 🌶 , and amazon “arrives before Christmas” is no longer a thing. 📦

We will have them all listed by letter and design. Based on what I’ve heard so far, the letters “A” and “E” will be most popular, as will the Blush and Moon designs.. so if you don’t fall into those categories, shout it out loud so I know to stock others deeper too. DID YOU KNOW!?! All our *Sight Word Sets* come with 10 extra letters!? These letters are the reoccurring letters in the Pre-K/K sight words lists + a couple extras (who doesn’t love to spell MOM and DAD!?). These extra letter sets though aren’t a *real* thing. I totally made it up myself last year. 💁🏼‍♀️ I looked at what was available (other than super thin wood/vinyl letters - nothing lol), did the research 👩‍🏫 and counted all the duplicate letters from all the lists we were currently working on and created the idea of a “Sight Word Set”. I didn’t want people to have to buy multiple sets just to get the right letters to spell simple words + their kids names. And if your kids names have multiple other letters (“N” is another popular letter!), you can add those on to your set too! So now, when you see my sets saying there’s 36 letters in the alphabet.. now you know why! 🎉 Also, next RESTOCK 7/24 11A PST (1p CT, 2p EST). Reminder in stories 💕

Go for GOLD, baby!! Who else was looking forward to the 2020 Olympics!? 🏅🙋‍♀️ It’s so funny being an adult sometimes right? My whole life I completely identified with being an athlete. It must be kind of funny for some of my childhood friends seeing me grow this kind of business, because athletics has always been such a huge part of my life. But I think I’ve really just transferred all my athlete-mentality-ness and packaged it as a glittery letter business 😂. When B asked what kind of people go to the olympics, we told her the best athletes in each of their sports get to go... her response was (with an understanding nod) “oh yeah, you mean athletes like me, when I play soccer.” Yep, girl. EXACTLY like that. 🤣💁🏼‍♀️

I was dreaming of a beautiful (fully clothed 🙄) patriotic picture... but instead, in true Bacon family fashion we got this 😆🤷🏼‍♀️ Ben sweating and doing garage stuff, Bennett in PJs, and the other two in swimsuits (barely)... and of course the leaf blower came back out 😂 Can you spot it!?! ✨July 6 RESTOCK INFO ✨ This weekend we will be pre-loading everything onto our website in “preview” mode so you will able to see how it is all categorized - and so you can see exactly what will be available on Monday. We will be restocking FIVE designs this time (and then we will switching it up and restocking our other designs two weeks later.) This restock will be GREEN DINO, BLUSH, MOON GIRL, THINGS THAT GO, and the GOLD set. Upper/lower/and numbers will be available in each design as well 🙌🏻. Shipping will be 2-3 weeks (we have some family coming to visit this month, so we want to have time to hang with them 🥰). We will also be restocking again though the week of July 20th 🎉🎉🎉. Happy Father’s Day to the guy to goes to any length to make all our crazy dreams come true! (Pretty sure I told him right before this first pic to “take any measures to ensure she doesn’t run away” 🤣🙈) He is the best nap partner, late night warrior, tackler, tickler, tosser, explain-er of ALL the questions, project master, food-maker, and so much more. THANK YOU for being all the things for us. ❤️❤️❤️ and to my own dad, Happy Father’s Day - because as we all know, every ounce of my creativity comes from you 😂 thank you for building me train beds, over the top Valentine’s Day mailboxes, throwing us (very) detailed birthday parties every year, making reindeer Christmas videos and so, so much more (much to mom’s dismay lol).
