Are you settling for less than what God has promised?

Have a fiery belief and a holy determination that you are going to be all you were created to be.

When it seems impossible, like it's taking forever, or the goal is too big, the journey too arduous...

We get tempted to shift the goal post closer... To settle.

Make up your mind to not water down your dreams, or be talked out of it.

Take inspiration from the story of Ishmael Vs Isaac. Don't settle.

You can only change the world to the extent that you can change yourself.

Often, we fail to recognise and accept 'reality', or 'what is', because our preconditioned limiting beliefs have distorted our perception.

We rationalise our actions based on our present level of awareness, no matter how faulty it may be.

The beliefs of a person who has a normal, wholesome personality undergo a constant process of reorganization.

To achieve this, I invite you to:

1. Notice what you are defending most of the time.

2. Question EVERYTHING and draw your own conclusions based on available evidence.

3. Learn to trust your intuition.

I serve a God of exceedingly, abundantly, beyond what I can ask or imagine. Ephesians 3:20

When God is charting a new path, don't be tempted to look back.

Earlier today I was in hospital, for mine not me, putting in a request for an urgent test.

I'd already put together all other documents requested since I'd been following up since yesterday. Well, more like Saturday.

Then the lady asks, "where's the request form?" Me with a blank face, "what's a request from?" Apparently it is one of the main documents required for the process. This was the first I was hearing of it!

Meanwhile, my doctor has been on night shift and I know getting him will be a challenge. Not just getting him, but also getting him to fill in a request form which he may not have at home where he has gone to rest, and then get it back to me where I am.

As I was contemplating, a doctor walks into that office holding a request form. The lady exclaims, "Let me see that! Is that a request form?!" The doctor says, yes it's for my own thing." She checks the form and it is for the procedure I was seeking.

So I join in, "OMG you are literally God sent!" He agreed to fill it out and sign it for me so that it could be scanned with the rest of my documents. And he really needed no convincing to help, though that didn't stop me from blessing him profusely.

Moral of the story, God does not sleep. He has His angels moving on earth ready to come to our rescue, sometimes even before we ask. He already had the answer on the way.

I do believe in coincidences but you CANNOT convince me that this was one.

My 14 days of quarantine are officially over 🥳

While the streets might be calling my name, my lips are still calling on the name of Jesus! Because!

That Delta variant is no joke folks. Whilst I'm past the worst, and trust me it was.

At some point I felt as if hospitalisation was a real option for me 😅 I can laugh now.

I will share some of my experience here incase it might help someone.

At first it was a cough & lethargy. Then cold shivers but Nairobi was also super cold so I wasn't alarmed.

Then. Headaches, eye ache, sharp neck and upper back pain, lower back and general body ache, cold sweats- like proper sweating, almost non stop coughing which also caused chest ache & a sore throat.

I could barely construct a sentence without a coughing attack coming on. I barely had the energy to speak, text, eat.

Add sleeplessness, loss of appetite, loss of taste and smell. These are slowly coming back, selectively. Thank God.

I spent many a night coughing, crying, tossing and turning and calling on the name of Jesus because I could not string together a sentence of prayer.

And honestly, when I called on Jesus, I drifted off to sleep without realising. It was more like chanting. "Jesus, Jesus, Jesus".

Whenever I wanted to pray, I would stream YouTube especially for their electric praise & worship. I remembered that when I attended their services I always felt renewed and filled with the Holy Spirit. I figured what better way to connect with God now that I am unable to speak to Him?

And friends, the first time I tuned in, I was so overcome with warmth I burst into tears. I started worshipping and praising with tears streaming down my face. I had a 30 minutes session in which I did not cough even once, despite me singing at the loudest that I could, crying & praising.

Yes, I was on medication at the time. Antibiotics, painkillers, cough syrup, vitamin C,D,E &Zinc, concoctions... The works!

I write all this to say, the new variant is no joke. Please mask up, social distance and just avoid any situation where you're exchanging body fumes or fluids with people. Even you puff puff pass lot. Don't pass it, puff your own 😐

I recently attended a fashion event after an extended amount of absence. Both of fashion events and of my attendance.

It was lovely to see all my fellow colleagues in the industry and catch up with friends & fellow fashionistas alike!

A common comment and compliment was of how I haven't changed one bit in years! The way I dress, my energy and vibe... ofcourse I was eating it all up! 😋

It got me thinking.

Whilst I may not have been going for a Taraji inspired look when I was dressing up, we likely have a similar style personality, especially with some of her on screen characters.

This look, though different from the next outfit I will wear or put together will still have Ciruma written all over it. I've been at it for many years and has become my signature style 💅🏽

Knowing how to dress my shape and size, understanding my style personality and shopping for it, being aware of my skin tone and how to pair colours. It is all second nature to me now 💖
