"Bourbon Bottles" hand carved in Basswood.
"Lollipop" Sort of finished. Sort of a work in progress. The goal was to carve these lollipops to look like stained glass windows. It's a new body of work and I'm still figuring things out. I've made a few attempts but this one isn't yet what I have pictured in my head. # woodworking
In progress.
What color is everyone’s favorite gummy bear?? It’s blue, right?
It takes a lot more work and time to process fresh logs into a sculpture but I think it was worth it. “Moon Launch”
SALE! I’m focusing on a new body of work and need to get rid of older pieces. I’ll be posting more pictures in the next few days. If there is anything you are interested in DM me and we can working a deal.
It’s a little intimidating but I still have all my fingers. This is my go-to tool for rough sculpting and removing large amounts of material. It cuts the same as a chainsaw but is easier to maneuver. I’m taking some action shots today and will hopefully have a decent video to share tomorrow.
Spent the morning participating in an art festival mock jury. This is my first time watching judges view and critique work, and also being able to see other artists’ submissions. I learned a lot and was happy with the comments the judges had for me. I’m always looking for improvement in my work. So let me know. Any comments or critiques you might have I’m happy hear…. Also nice to have a day inside with a warm cup of tea.
New machine!! I am by no means a wood turner but there have been times that my work could have been improved with turned elements. My carved rockets are some of the first pieces I turned on this lathe when it was in a friend’s shop. Now that it is here I’m excited for the possibilities it brings.
It’s gross out there. Thankfully I spent yesterday cutting up logs and moving dry wood inside. Most of this is to burn but there are a few pieces I have my eye on for possible future projects. sculptures
Getting ready to start on two new sculptures. I’ve been working more with boards lately and joining sections together. This allows me to get clean details carved into the sculpture. It also allows me to situate the grain orientation so the sculptures are structurally sound.
My last art show of the year! Boca Raton I’m on East Boca Raton Rd. for today and tomorrow.
Last day in Cocoa Beach.
Happy Thanksgiving!
“Sorry I was crabby” Hand carved in Cherry.
