Body Affirmation Through Body-Breath Connection💓
“Don’t wait until you lose your ability to move freely, to appreciate and enjoy the freedom of movement and expression.” — Conscious U (Cherry)🌸
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
How often do we take our body’s ability to move for granted?🤔When we lose our ability to move well or when we experience aches and pains in the bodies, especially for those who have chronic pain and injuries, just to have one day they can move freely without pains and restrictions can be such a blessing for them that money cannot buy.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Treat your body well and your body will stand by you to allow you to experience the world.

Know your root☝🏼(and don’t throw them away😉)
Take it or Leave it! Cilantro (in North America mostly refers to the leaves & stalks of the plant), also commonly called Coriander in different parts of the world (usually refers to the dried seeds of the plant) is one of the most widely eaten herbs in the world. It’s a dominant ingredient in Indian, Thai, Chinese, Mexican, Caribbean, Mediterranean, North African, and Eastern European cuisine. Although some people hate it, we ABSOLUTELY adore it for many reasons.💚
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Besides its bright aroma and its ability to pull out heavy metals from soft tissue in our body *(more on this topic on the next post on food), we simply love the fact that ⇢ ALL parts of the plant are EDIBLE. Yes, including the ROOTS❗️
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
While the leaves, dried seeds and flowers are often used throughout Asia, Latin America, South America and North Africa (as garnish, in condiment of guacamole & salsa, in chutneys and salads), the fresh ROOTS are rarely used outside of Thailand.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Cilantro roots are more pungent than their leaves – giving a rich and earthy flavor with a hint of lemon and pepper undertone. This makes them a staple for marinades, broths, stews and sauces in Thailand. We usually grind the fresh roots in a mortar to make a paste. It is one of the 4 main components of Thai seasoning pastes, along with garlic, salt and Thai peppercorns.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Now you know the secret 🤫key ingredient that gives many Thai soups or grilled meat/ seafood their amazing and oomph flavor, don’t throw cilantro roots away.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Take home tips for authentic Thai cooking:
➳ Use the roots to marinade any meat (to get rid of strong meat smell + to add complex flavor to the dish) before grilling or pan-frying
➳ Use them as stuffing for roasted chicken or steamed fish
➳ Add them to stock for noodle dish (like Tom Yum Noodle or Pho) or in a stew
➳ Add the mashed roots into your homemade burger patty
➳ Mix them into steamed chicken buns’ fillings
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Can you think of any other creative ways to use cilantro roots in your cooking? Share with us your creative recipe below.
This slow and simple Qi Gong movements called — The Eight Pieces of Brocade, is one of ancient Chinese forms of exercise used to effectively direct Qi (energy flow/ life force) throughout the body and to remove blockages. The goal of the practice is similar to the goal of acupuncture treatment and massage, which is to help move around our stuck Qi and balance the body’s overall energy.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The practice follows the principles of TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine). It is one of the most gentle and effective ways of working with the body, calming the Nervous system, healing body, mind, and spirit.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
❣️This is why we love this form of Qi Gong practice, especially for days that we feel physically and mentally exhausted but we know we need to get our stagnant energy moving.🐉 But literally, the practice makes us feel very good and open when we practice in the morning or in the evening to help us unwind.

Are you making things worse for your loved one or friends suffering within themselves? Find out below 🔻 🔻..
As for all the beautiful & evolving souls out there who are suffering within yourself with anxiety or depression, please remember this 👇🏼👇🏼
"You're strong.
You survived living through the main pain of it all.
You will survive the healing time.
Things will get better. Even better than better."
~ Karen Salmansohn .com (Karen Salmansohn's site)
•••
Many times I found myself in places where I was meant to be to receive the right support and guidance to help me break through certain aspects which needed to be changed.
•
My experiences have led me to believe that things that I seek also find their way to me at the right time – be it knowledge, help in life whenever I feel struggled with certain things and wisdom that eventually understood by the heart and not by the head.😌
•
I stumbled upon this motivating quote from Karen Salmansohn's page many years ago when I was living through the pain and struggles in my life and allowing healing to take place at its own pace. Many of her quotes resonate with me on many levels and helped me stay positive even on days that were hard to see positive things in life back then.
•
It wasn't an easy journey of healing, especially when people around you didn't quite understand your experience and how difficult it could be to get out of a rut when you already felt that you hit rock bottom. We are all different and unique in own own way and it's ok for people around us to not understand our feelings and experiences because their life journeys are different from ours. For a long time, I had tried to explain to my friends and people around me about my struggles, hoping that they would feel me and get how I feel but in return, sometimes I received a casual joke or a tease regarding my anxiety and emotional strains.
•
That being said, I wanted to re-share this quote from years ago and I intentionally wrote this post as a reminder for anyone who is struggling/ has been struggling with anything in any areas of his/her life that, when you feel stuck in life 👉🏼 please hang in there... 🙏🏼 because it all shall pass and you will come out stronger than when you entered it. Meanwhile, start to look within yourself and be honest with yourself about what you truly need in life, when you realize that you need help or guidance... those things that you seek will also seek you! 😊💚
•
On a different note, if you are on the other side, where you have friends or anyone in your family who are suffering with mental or emotional turbulence, giving them your best support by LENDING an EAR to them with EMPATHY would be much more helpful and appreciated than just simply telling them to:
"Stop worrying too much!" OR
"Calm down!" (this one doesn't usually work, apparently if you do some more research on this topic, you will understand why it doesn't work 😉 ), OR
"That's not a big deal as you think it is🙄" (especially with this eye roll) OR
saying something like "Why can't you be more positive?" OR
"That is all in your head!"
..
All of those example statements, usually make people who are suffering within themselves feel worse because not only would they feel that no one understands them, they would also feel being judged and that their feelings are not validated.
So, please be kind🌸 and more empathetic through your words and actions. It's never too late to show your support towards your friends or your loved ones the right way.😊

Don't hesitate to reach out to me or Asher on our Conscious U page if you need to talk about anything like this and possibly looking for tools to help you manage your stress and anxiety. Maybe we can be of help.

Did you know Asher is an avid reader, having a preference for nonfiction books with a few exceptions in the fiction category. His interests range from autobiographies and biographies, all things fitness, health and wellness, real life adventure stories, history, philosophy and psychology.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The funny thing is, as a kid, he didn’t like reading. He was more of an outdoorsy—roll in the mud, returning home with scrapes and bruises, kinda kid. To sit down, pick up a book and read, was an effort.😩 Even in school he recalls flipping through pages in the library when forced to spend time there once a week, as part of the school’s curriculum, to inculcate a habit of reading within the kids. Every week you were supposed to borrow a book and return it the following week, having (supposedly) read it.🙄 Any guesses what he did? Borrow any random book? No. Borrow a comic book? No. Well, he gladly would have, if the school kept them and let you borrow them. Which kid wouldn't? But sadly any respectable school in India didn’t keep them.🤷🏻♂️ Luckily for him, they had teen detective mystery novels like: The Hardy Boys, Famous Five, etc., which his sister enjoyed reading and he used to bring them back for her to read instead and he was off the hook.😈
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Fast forward years later during his time in Management School.🤓 He developed an interest for reading about corporations, its CEOs and eminent personalities in the management world, like: Jack Welsh of GE, Richard Branson of Virgin, etc.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Today, his prized possessions are his books📚, especially the autobiographies of MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) athletes. Asher loves all things MMA🥋🥊, in his eyes, these athletes are professionals and modern day warriors, each one of their stories is truly inspiring and insightful which can be applied to one’s own life.
Every once in a while there comes along a person who inspires you, who lives by example, whose actions resonate with his / her words, who believes and stands for something great. The person Asher admires the most (in and out of the cage) is a Canadian two-division champion (in the UFC) and former professional mixed martial artist, Georges “Rush” St-Pierre. Must read book: The Way of the Fight. Another personality and public figure worth mentioning is a British former SAS, adventurer, survival instructor, writer and television presenter, Bear Grylls. Must read book: Mud, Sweat & Tears.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
These books have shaped my personality as a young adult and have had a profound influence over my life. Growing up, I had many questions about religion, my upbringing, society, etc. that I couldn’t find the answers from conventional wisdom and knowledge in my environment. As a seeker, I found answers to many of these questions in books, also talking to and listening to knowledgeable people. These have played a big role in my mental and emotional growth and wellbeing. It goes without saying that these books have helped me continue to evolve in my profession in ways that help me serve others better, not only on a physical level but also on emotional and mental level.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
"With discipline, belief, and the right knowledge, we become the best we can be." ~ Georges St-Pierre
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
A few books read and countless more to be discovered, their stories, knowledge and wisdom, yet to unfold. Do share with us, which book has influenced you the most and in what way?
Never stop seeking, never stop learning.
Love and health,
Cherry & Ash💚🌸
Still feeling that you can’t find your ground even though you have tried different things people kindly shared on social media on how to cope with stress and anxiety?😥
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Here’s a few questions for you to dig deep to understand why certain practices might have not worked for you in the past:
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
▪️ Are you able to identify the true sources of stress or anxiety in your life?
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
▪️Do you keep blaming your stress on other people or outside events?
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
▪️ Are you the kind of person who likes to keep gathering helpful information because if makes you feel safe and armed with tools to tackle problems but doesn’t put it into practice?
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
▪️ Do you have unrealistic expectations towards mastering new skills, whether it’s taking up a new art class to help you release stress or practicing mindfulness to help you deal with anxiety?
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
For the next 4 Sundays of August, we will be diving deeper to get to know ourselves better (yes, it can be intimidating to admit the answers, so be prepared for this🤭) while exploring different techniques to help you ground yourself when you feel stressed, overwhelmed and anxious.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Whether you’re new to the mindfulness practice and wanting to explore the tools which can help you handle stress and anxiety OR if you’re still searching for a supportive practice and community to help you keep up with your mindfulness practice, come join us to explore along side others who are also seeking to create space for themselves or sustain the practice of mindfulness, in the comfort of your own home.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Please contact WanderingJane to reserve your spot soon as we intend to keep our online training session in a smaller group for better quality of the class. See you guys next Sunday!🌤

Wake Up Your Body with Dynamic Movement🌤
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Have you been feeling demotivated, lethargic, stuck or just don’t feel like doing much lately? Has the current situation left you feeling overly anxious, stressed or mildly depressed?
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
There could be many reasons you are feeling this way, some of them may be: social / environmental factors, psychological factors, stress, work-life imbalance, poor diet, poor gut health, less or no physical activity, inadequate sleep or disrupted sleep cycle, etc. These factors can create imbalances in your body and cause hormonal fluctuations in your system.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
One of the ways to counter balance these is by engaging in any form of physical activity. This is easier said than done. We are aware that it feels like an effort to even get a light workout in at times, but this is when you need to move your body the most, be it: a brisk walk, dance, yoga, simple stretches, joint mobility or any form of movement practice.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Yup.. we hear you and we’ve been there and done that. The challenging part is to get started, especially when you’re feeling unmotivated and not feeling like doing anything, but we know that our bodies need some form of movement. The more you let your body sink and give in to the temptation of not moving much, your body is going to be better at that. Then, it becomes a vicious cycle making it more difficult to get out of that rut.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
When we find it challenging to start any physical activity, we usually remind ourselves how GOOD it FEELS after each movement or workout session. That is our motivation to get us move our ass off the seat often and just MOVE our bodies.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Remember how good it makes you feel after an impromptu silly dance at home to your favourite tune, a brisk walk in the park, a gentle dynamic stretch routine, a bike ride around your neighbourhood, or a game of catch with your children or pet?
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
See if this tip works for you. Try it and let us know if you’re able to get yourself out of that hole. If not, share with us what is still your biggest challenge that stops you from moving.
