*STOP THE EXGRATIA FALLACY OR RETURN THE BENEFITS YOU HAVE BEEN ENJOYING*
It baffles our imagination the fallacy of former president John Mahama claiming to cancel exgratia payments when he becomes president again for which reason he's seeking another term of the presidential office.
Our elders say, when a goat says he has an antidote for fever, you first check its urine.
Our political history has made it known to us that Mr John Mahama was a three times parliamentarian and that was a whopping twelve years as a Ghanaian lawmaker. He had the privilege of serving as a deputy and later full-time minister.
The man did not end it there, he later became the vice president of this nation and an opportunist as he said he is in his infamous book title, My coupe d'etat, he became the president of Ghana after the death of his boss.
Upon all these opportunities given to the opportunist John Mahama, he could not cancel the exgratia being paid to the Article 71 office holders; he didn't even hold the amount as it was before his time of office, rather we witnessed a situation where after every given four years tenure, he'll call for the increment of it as he was and still a beneficiary to the exgratia today.
Currently, Mr John Mahama and a number of his close allies whom he has presented to the state as his staff are being paid allowances as part of his exgratia benefits.
It's so bemused as the former president continues to benefit from the exgratia but hides behind political populism to campaign on the cancellation of same.
This is a clear case that the incompetent former president who was rejected by Ghanaian voters for his poor performance has nothing to offer Ghanaians and no campaign message for which he has adopted the incompetent political theory of "tell them what they want to hear, not what you want to do".
We are by this calling on the former president to as a matter of urgency;
1. Seize receiving payments to his office as former president which is part of the exgratia benefit.
2. Seize receiving payments for persons he claimed are his staff as exgratia benefits.
3. Return all exgratia benefits he has since enjoyed as a politician.
We the youths of this country are getting enlightened and cannot be taken for granted by any cheap political talk.
