Leptin is another hormone that's essential to understand if we're serious about maintaining a healthy weight.

You can think of leptin as the appetite suppressant hormone. Made within your fat cells, leptin is what makes you feel satiated. It "talks" to your brain, telling it when you feel hungry or full.

When your leptin levels are balanced, you don't overeat because you feel full after eating a well-rounded meal, and that fullness lasts for hours. Leptin is like insulin in that it hates the wrong foods.

Ever notice how sweets 🍭 and processed foods leave you feeling empty and wanting for more even after a short period of time?

Eating trans fats and processed foods over the long tern eventually leads to leptin resistance.

Here are the things we can do to overcome leptin resistance:

1: Exercise regularly
2: Increase Anti inflammatory foods
3: Include omega3 foods and good fats and reduce foods that contain sugars and trans fats.

I'm all about a good ol' bag of potato
chips.
But have you ever eaten what feels like 1000 chips and
never felt full or satisfied?
I seriously feel like I could eat a family size bag and still
need a full meal 😂
There's a reason this is happening, so let's dive in:
Let's look at an apple vs. chips.
Both are great, but one has more staying power when it comes to satiation & fullness.
Foods that are more processed/less whole tend not to take up very much volume in your stomach. It's air food. I mean, a potato chip essentially dissolves before you even swallow
it, right?
And your stomach needs volume to help it feel full. So when you're hungry and eat something as low volume as
potato chips, it's not going to go very far compared to, say, an apple with nut butter.
To be clear: apples & nut butter are BETTER than chips. And this is NOT me saying eat apples over chips.
Rather, I'd like to give you insight into satiety.
Chips have so much air, such little volume, and not to
mention little to no protein or fat which means it's gonna
take awhile before you hit enough to fill you up! Chips are
mostly appealing to your satisfaction more so than to your
function.
Which is totally FINE, still eat those chips if they sound good!

BUT as an intuitive confident eater, you also wanna keep feeling + function in mind. Are those chips going to keep
you energized and focused the rest of the workday? Are they going to keep you full until dinner?
If you're feeling pretty hungry, low energy, and want more
staying power... pair those chips with some fat & protein
(or an apple + nut butter) to help you feel more satiated
balance blood sugar, and help you function better!
Now, am I saying you have to ALWAYS eat chips with
apples + nut butter? Nope, absolutely not. Sometimes you
just want a light snack and chips is it. Totes, fine.
What I am saying is that understanding food and your body
can simply help you make more empowered confident
choices with less stress, guilt, confusion, etc.
Remember, it's not about taking things away. It's about
looking at what you can add.

Lemon & Honey water every morning on Empty Stomach.

I never knew why, I probably heard it from a friend who was himself/herself not sure why?

⭐️Lemon honey water may have other
benefits but it certainly DOES NOT
aid weight/fat loss.

⭐️In fact, the commercial honey you
use is concentrated sugar syrup that
raises your blood sugar levels and
can lead to weight gain instead.

⭐️Unlike refined sugar if the honey you choose is raw,organic and unprocessed it has few other nutritional content.

⭐️Having honey mixed with warm water and lemon has been a common technique to lose weight. However, if you are following this technique, you need to stop immediately. According to Ayurveda, honey is not supposed to be heated or cooked under any condition. When you heat honey in any form, it turns toxic and can deteriorate your health.

The Center for Environmental Health (CEH) conducted a variety of tests on branded sportswear and found high levels of BPA, an industrial chemical used to make some plastics.

BPA exposure "is a concern because of the possible health effects on the brain and prostate gland of fetuses, infants, and children. It can also affect children's behavior. Additional research suggests a possible link between BPA and increased blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, and cardiovascular disease.

BPA is often found in the plastics used to hold food and water (like plastic water bottles) and can be used in other consumer products as well — like in this case, stretchy athletic clothing.

Regulation primarily concerns food safety, so clothing companies don't always disclose if products have BPA in their fabrics. The best option? Look for natural fibers, like 100 percent cotton, linen, or wool clothing and steer clear of synthetic fibers like polyester and spandex.

Taking thyroid hormone medication
and not feeling better?

This is not uncommon! It may work wonders for some but leave others wondering why they still feel the same.
Here are few reasons why it may not be giving 👇

⭐️ You have Hashimoto's disease
Hashimoto's is an issue with the immune
system that can, over time, turn into an
issue with the thyroid. You may also have
hypothyroidism and need thyroid
medication but it's still not addressing the
root cause and you may still not feel great.

⭐️ You're not on the correct dose
Dosing thyroid medications can require
some trial and error. It also involves
testing and retesting lab work and keep tracking of symptoms to know if you are feeling better or not
This is going to be really important if you
don't have a thyroid or have hypothyroid and aren't producing enough
hormone.

⭐️ You have more going on
I very rarely see thyroid issues alone. You
may not be feeling great if you also have
blood sugar issues, stress issues, sleep
issues, etc. Often times it takes a combination of efforts to feel better.

⭐️You're not absorbing the
hormones This could be taking the medication incorrectly or an issue getting the hormone inside the cells.
If you're continually going up in dosage,
this is what I would consider.

Despite it’s misleading name, there are actually no vegetables in vegetable oil.

⭐️Vegetable oil is a highly processed fat extracted from soy, corn, canola, sunflower, safflower, cottonseed, rice bran, and/or grapeseed.

⭐️The process involved in creating these oils results in distorted molecules with high levels of what's called polyunsaturated fatty acids (aka PUFAs).
PUFAs are unstable fats that are susceptible to heat-related damage known as oxidation. Oxidation can cause inflammation and cell damage, which has been linked to many health-related conditions, including obesity, diabetes, heart disease, and arthritis. Furthermore, vegetable oils usually contain additives that destroy many beneficial nutrients. 

❌OILS TO AVOID/LIMIT: vegetable oils such as soybean oil, corn oil, canola oil, sunflower oil, safflower oil, cottonseed oil, rice bran oil, and grapeseed oil.

⭐️Some common sources include margarine, shortening, mayonnaise, commercial salad dressings, packaged snacks (cookies, crackers, chips, popcorn, bars), baked goods, and fried/fast food. Refined oils are extremely cheap to manufacture and increase shelf life, so many food manufacturers opt for this instead. Due to a high smoke point, they are often used in restaurants as a frying oil as well.

⭐️If you just went through your pantry and are realizing that everything seems like it contains these oils- don't worry! More and more food companies are catching on and making the switch. Check the Ingredient list and verify the oil used.

Day 8 # Peacock Green - Ashgourd juice

Ash gourd juice, including the pulp and peel, comprises total soluble solids. 100 g of ash gourd comprises 12 g protein, 2.9 g fiber, 3.96 g carbohydrates, 0.6 mg zinc, 11.8 mg iron, and 30 mg calcium. The fat component in ash gourd juice is zero.
Moreover, ash gourd juice has 12.60% antioxidants, 4.60% alcohol, and 1.67% flavonoids. 100 g of ash gourd also contains plenty of vitamins. It has 0.04 mg vitamin B1, 0.14 mg vitamin B2, 0.5 mg vitamin B3, 0.17 mg vitamin B5 and 17.2 mg vitamin C.

1 Magical Recipe To Improve
Egg Growth & Ovulation For
Women - Pumpkin soup

This soup increases cervical mucus in women. It is a sign of ovulation. This soup is essential for the oocyte quality & embryo development and
supports healthy egg development.

If you have delayed ovulation, vaginal dryness Pumpkin and Pumpkin seeds helps a lot.

Preparation 👇

Take few pieces of Pumpkin, carrot, sweet onion in pressure cooker or pan and add 1/2 glass water, if needed add few spices . Pressure cook these for two whistles and off. Let them cook for few minutes and blend into thick paste. Now heat pan, add ghee, roasted pumpkin seeds and paste. Boil untill you see oil in the corners. Transfer into bowl and add 1/2 tbsp fresh cream on top. serve hot.

Day 6 # Grey- Wood apple

Instead of an energy drink, wood apple juice will do just fine as well. The juice can also improve organ activity and metabolism too.
Also, it is high in protein and can help in muscle repair as well.  
More importantly, the juice is well known in India as a good way to beat the summer heat and can reduce flatulence.

Blood purification:
A small quantity of wood apple juice with warm water is known to help in purifying the blood and help in removal of toxins. This, in turn, has the effect of reducing the load on the liver and kidneys.

Good for digestion:
Drinking wood apple juice has several benefits for the stomach and digestive system. It helps in curing digestive problems like dysentery and diarrhoea.

It is also known to be a good remedy for constipation and helps relieve discomfort. It also has laxative properties.
 
Apart from the above, it is beneficial for kidney and liver health because it can remove toxins. It can also relieve us of the common cold, a sore throat, cough and also help with the treatment of ear pain.

The flesh of the fruit can be eaten as it is. But if the flesh is sour, a bit of jaggery/ honey can be mixed.
 
The pulp must be blended with jaggery in a food processor. A bit of water can be added. Then, pepper and cardamom powder can be added to make a refreshing drink.

Happy 75th Independence Day 🇮🇳🇮🇳

☹️Not waking up with an appetite means your body is in a stressed state and is suppressing hunger cues. And when we chose to skip breakfast or prolong breakfast, our body has to rely on it's stress hormones, cortisol and
adrenaline to bring lord sugar back up.

🥺This can wreak havoc on our hormones.

✨Not waking up hungry- body is in stress.
✨Not eating breakfast- Body is in stress, blood sugar lowers and to bring up blood sugar, we use stress hormones cortisol.

I often see this in my clients when they are really busy seasons of life or they aren't prioritizing things like sleep and rest. Their body is just too stressed and they are missing the hunger cues. But, they wake up tired and rely on coffee. So then we wind up with coffee as our breakfast that surpasses our hunger singles more and a body in a chronic state of fight or flight.

So, stick with a simple breakfast. Take waking up hungry as a sign of healing!

✨Some key tips:
1. Keep the breakfast filled with Protein, Carb and Fats
2. Eat within 30 min to 1 hour of waking

Say No to Plastic ❌

Certain substances affect our endocrine system by interfering with hormones’ normal functions. Known as endocrine disruptors, these substances increase production of certain hormones and decrease production of others.

Ubiquitous in our everyday lives, these substances are found in common household items such as plastic goods, personal-care products, fragrances, food and food packaging, and even tap water.

✨Bisphenol A (BPA)

Manufacturers use BPA in the production of certain plastics and resins. It is commonly found in the lining of canned foods and other food-packaging materials, certain polycarbonate plastic bottles, and cash register receipts. BPA has been linked to breast and other cancers, reproductive and fertility issues, obesity, and early puberty.

BPA the most common endocrine disruptors we come across in our day to day life, Here are ways how to avoid them👇

✨ Say no to receipts, since thermal paper is often coated with BPA.

✨Avoid plastics marked with a “PC,” for polycarbonate, or recycling label #7. (Not all of these plastics contain BPA, but many do.)

✨Substitute fresh, frozen, or dried food for canned.

✨Never heat food in the can. (Transfer it to a pot or pan for stove-top cooking or a glass container for microwaving.)

✨Check whether a food or beverage’s package contains BPA using EWG’s BPA product list. If it does, look for alternatives in EWG’s Food Scores.

Endocrine disruptors are found in many everyday products, including some plastic bottles and containers, liners of metal food cans, detergents, flame retardants, food, toys, cosmetics, and pesticides.
