The Stitching Elk

Fabric has been cut and ironed now comes the fun part. Stitching the fabric to the back of the muslin and doing some trimming.

The start of Swan & Lilies crazy quilt pillow top. Just finished hand stitching the cross stitch to the muslin with Candlewick thread. I used the Candlewick thread because it is thicker than standard sewing or embroidery thread. Which is perfect to hold thicker fabrics, like Aida, in place, as well as giving texture to embroidery stitches that I'll be using later.

My mom is stitching this design currently. It has Krenik all through the design which just makes everything sparkle. We have lost track of how many spools she has actually gone through. She does want to sell it once it is completed.

It really is quite stunning in person. I am planning to add it it to my store this week even though it's not finished yet. I just think it would be fun for people to see her progress while waiting for the finish.

I am finally done with moving although still working on a bit of organization. I did go through my treasure stash and decide I have way too much to stich as well as overstocked on a few supplies. I now have a couple of totes and shelves of all sorts of bits n'bobs that I'll be listing on my store.

I've also finally been able to actually sit down and do some stitching. I finished Swan and Lilies that I plan to finish as a pillow then list in my store. I also made myself a lanyard just to see if I could. I'm planning on doing some more lanyards with embroidery on them. Just haven't quite got the details worked out yet.

For now, I'm stitching It's a Girl Baby Sampler by Bobbie G. Designs for a granddaughter turning 1 next month. And, I have an order for another one for a niece of mine as well. All in all my creativity is starting to slowly come back.
