An interesting development

All politics is local. This was a theory that originated from American politics but can be applied to Philippine politics as well. Many local politicians focused on the viability of their own turfs before focusing on national politics. That was what happened to the Garcias and the Duranos in the last elections.

The Duranos challenged the dominance of the Garcias in the province even as the Garcias tried to end the Duranos dominance in the fifth district. The Garcias staved off the challenge of the Duranos but the last elections showed that the Duranos would not give up without a fight. The Duranos remains dominant in Danao City and in the towns of Camotes. Ace Durano may have lost to Gwen Garcia in the province but he succeeded in presenting himself as a good alternative to Garcia. Ace should no longer be seen as inferior to Garcia in the next polls.

The Garcias are trying to consolidate their political hold with the win of the Marcos-Duterte tandem at the national level. The Garcias are good in inluence-peddling and it is not farfetched to see them easing out the Duranos at the national level. Gwen Garcia's daughter is getting a Cabinet post, while none of the Duranos are in the position to get that. I don't see the Duranos trying to ingratiate themselves to the new admin.

Ace was in the Cabinet of Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo as tourism secretary and he did well. Let us see how Christina Garcia will fare. But I hope Marcos Jr. will not cancel the Duranos, who also supported them in their turf. A Durano in the Cabinet may not sound good for the Garcias but it will be a shout out to the past when the Duranos stood almost alone in Cebu in their support of the old Marcos regime.

Since the Partido Pilipino sa Pagbabago of my partner, gubernatorial aspirant Ace Durano, has decided to support another presidential candidate, it is obvious that he is bound to follow the organization’s endorsement.

Despite our different choices for president, it has not diminished in any way our shared belief to continue our movement for A Better Cebu.

On the day that we both filed our certificates of candidacy, we already announced to the public the possibility of supporting different candidates for president.

From the start, our goal was not really on forging political alliances but more on who will support our cause particularly the Cebu Priority Development Agenda, which was crafted by ordinary Cebuanos and 300 sectoral leaders.

Our local champions of CPDA, Sec. Ace Durano and Vice Governor Junjun Davide was set to have a rally tonight at St. Scholastica in Talisay City, Cebu. It was announced that Vice President and Presidential Candidate Leni Robredo was invited to join the rally since she expressed her support to the CPDA during her grand rally in Mandaue City, Cebu last April 21, 2022. She further said that the CPDA was aligned to her platforms for a better Philippines. Yet, it was announced yesterday that VP Leni Robredo cannot join the rally of Durano-Davide tomorrow due to some reasons that we are still validating.

The unforeseen events have strengthened the hope and faith of the Asdang Cebu youth movement to still champion the Cebu Priority Development Agenda (CPDA) with our bets for the Capitol, Durano-Davide, whatever political colors we are supporting in the national-level campaigns.

People's champion Ace Durano visits Naga City Cebu. Three barangays from the southern part of Cebu was among the recepients of the Cebu Priority Development Agenda (CPDA). Barangay Inayagan, Balirong and Colon was the lucky barangays that visited by Durano during his one-day campaigned along with independent councilor candidate Alix Lara. The affair was welcomed by thousands of residents from the different sectors and vows to show their supports for Durano and Davide in the governor and vice governor race respectively.

Ang pamulitika ni Gob. Gwen Garcia wa gibase sa prinsipyo. Makita man gani ni kun giunsa niya pagda ang Kapitolyo. Ang tanan gihimo aron lang pagdaug sa sunod eleksyon. Maong di ta mahibung nga gikalimtan niya ang batakang serbisyo sama sa panglawas ug ang pagpalambo sa mga hospital ug tua na nuon magtutok sa mga proyekto nga makita sa mga botante sama sa kadalanan. Bahala na kun maila ta sa nasud nga numero unong probinsya sa gidaghanon sa namatay sa Covid ug labing ubos nga gidaghanon sa nabakunahan.

Karon, iyang gida ang One Cebu aron pagsuporta sa kandidatura ni Bongbong Marcos sa pagkapresidente. Ang resulta, nigawas si Kong. Pablo John Garcia isip opisyal sa One Cebu. Si Pablo John dugay ra nga anti-Marcos ug tua nisuporta ni Isko Moreno sa pagka-presidente. Ang One Cebu nahimo nang "One Cebu Minus One."

Pero angayan nga maguol si Marcos sa maong kalamboan kay ang rekord ni Garcia sa pagsuporta og presidentiable dili man sad maayo. Pangutan-a si Gibo Teodoro sa dihang nilansad siya og presidente niadtong 2010. Dili si Garcia ang makapadaug sa usa ka kandidato sa pagkapresidente kun Cebu ang hisgutan. Ang mga botanteng Sugboanon ang mohukom ani. Nidaug si Gloria Arroyo ug Rodrigo Duterte sa Cebu tungod sa suporta sa mga Sugboanon. Ang mga Garcia sakaysakay lang. Akong usbon: pangutan-a si Gibo Teodoro.

Sa tinuoray lang, ang mga Durano pa ang orihinal ug dugay na nga tigsuporta sa mga Marcos dinhi sa Cebu ug dili ang One Cebu ni Garcia. Maingon nato nga nibalimbing ra ni ang One Cebu. Gani, dunay mga supporter ni Marcos nga dili ganahan ni Garcia ug nagsige na ron og bira niya sa social media.

Kini samtang ang mga Durano wa molimod sa ilang asosasyon sa mga Marcos bisan pa man kun si Davide mao ang pangulo ni Robredo sa Cebu. Ang ilang unity mao nga pulos sila nagtinguha sa kaayuhan sa Sugbo ug mga Sugboanon.
