GMRC for ALL
Hi!
We are here to spread awareness and remind you to keep on practicing Good Manners and Right Conduct especially in times of discussions, online or in real life. ^^
Why do we need to practice GMRC in social media tho?
"This will serve as a reminder and as an advice for people to watch their actions while socializing or having a discussion with someone from the internet. It is also for them to save themselves in times of trouble or cyber crime." - HUMSS Students
Practicing Good Manners and Right Conduct while exploring, talking or even when arguing through the internet can save you from...
The Revised Penal Code and the Cybercrime Prevention Act:
One who publicly or maliciously imputes to another a crime, vice, defect, real or imaginary, or any act, omission, condition, status or circumstance tending to cause the dishonor, discredit or contempt of a natural or juridical person, or blacken the memory of one who is dead may be liable for libel under this Code. (Art. 353, RPC) These acts are more severely punished when done online in addition to the civil action for damages which may be brought by the offended party. (Sec. 4(c-4), RA 10175)
GMRC for ALL:
The main purpose of our Advocacy Campaign is to spread awareness and remind people the importance of practicing Good Manners and Right Conduct. It is also to have an intellectual discussion so that no matter how the conversation turns out, basic respect is still applied and there will be takeaways since it is an open discussion, through online or in real life situations.
