Zoom in & see all the texture, visible pores inspite of all the makeup!

NORMALISE the normal things.

Stop obsessing over the FILTERED SKIN, filters are good, FUN, but don't believe that you can actually achieve a skin like that!

PORES. TEXTURE. BREAKOUTS. ALL NORMAL!

✨ My Thoughts on Bare sunscreen Gel✨⁣⁣⁣⁣

‼️𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐥𝐚𝐢𝐦𝐞𝐫: I have NOT used this sunscreen. This post is my personal opinon based on my observations & Knowledge. I do not intend to spread any hate, this post is for a healthy discussion.

🌸 Hello my dear skincare geeks 🤓 hope you all are glowing ✨️.

Now since a lot of time, I was getting MANY DMs for this sunscreen, so I finally shared my thoughts on it few days ago on my stories, asked the Lush organix to give us some more info/clarification to clear our doubts.

Coz apparently it is not only me who have doubts about this, in fact a fair amount of my audiences have shared a similar concern about this.

➡️ Lush Organix didn't respond anything to my stories. I understand, they're a busy business and they might have missed the stories since story life is only 24hrs, so I thought I'll make a post, may be we can hear back from them 🤷🏻‍♀️.

Organix, please clarify our doubts. I am not here to label this sunscreen as ineffective etc, I am simply confused and so is a lot of my other members and as a potential customer/consumer I guess it is our right to ask for some more information before making a decision to buy a certain product.

✨️ Hopefully we can hear from them.

🤔 I'd also like for you guys to pour in your thoughts or experience on this as well please? The more experiences & opinions we see, the better for us to decide whether to use this sunscreen or simply skip.

🌸 Share with others for their awareness/opinions as well.

💰 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐞 / 𝐐𝐮𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐲: (Price varies) for 236 ml

⏳️ 𝐋𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐬 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭: 2 months

#️⃣ 𝐒𝐭𝐞𝐩 𝐢𝐧 𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐞: 1st step (cleanser/facewash)

⁉️ 𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐭𝐨 𝐔𝐬𝐞 : Apply on dry skin first, massage gently for 10 - 20 seconds then add few drops of water, it will lather up a little and then wash off. Can be used both AM & PM

🪄 𝐁𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐟𝐢𝐭𝐬:
☆ Very gentle & effective cleanser
     ☆ Simple ingredients list
☆ Helps repair damaged skin barrier
     ☆ Promote/maintain healthy skin

⚠️ 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐬:
     ○ Not a con, but it won't be suitable for oily skin and for heavy makeup/ multiple sunscreen layers removal all alone. You will either have to use it twice every time you're washing your face with it or use it as a first cleanse (in double cleansing step) and follow it with any other cleanser.

💭 𝐌𝐲 𝐓𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬:
》As the name suggest, it is GENTLE. Perfect for anyone who is looking for a gentle, non stripping cleanser. Weather you have dry/sensitive skin or if you're facing temporarily dryness/damaged skin barrier issue due to retinoids etc use this without any worries. In my opinion it is best to be used during colder months for anyone!

📋 𝐌𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐈𝐧𝐟𝐨 :
  🌱 Drying Alcohol/Fragrance Free
  🌱 Cruelty Free
  🌱 Safe for Pregnancy & B-Feeding
🌱 Safe for eczema & rosacea
🌱 Can be use on Face & Body both

✨️🇵🇰 𝗦𝘂𝗻𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻𝘀 𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗨𝗩 𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 ✨️
⁣⁣
🌝 So some of you may know that I did a little experiment few days back, where I put our local commonly available sunscreens under UV light to see the SPF.

Now before I give you any detail, it is important to know:

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗨𝗩 𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗗𝗢𝗘𝗦𝗡'𝗧 𝘁𝗲𝗹𝗹 𝘂𝘀:
🔦 The SPF rating
🔦 If the sunscreen is chemical or Physical
🔦 Darker color doesn't mean more SPF

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘁 𝘁𝗲𝗹𝗹𝘀 𝘂𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗻?
🔦 If the sunscreen contains any Sun protecting factor or not.

I actually intended to do 3 types of experiments, observe the sunscreen under UV light:
》On Paper
》On Skin
》On the UV beads

𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗥𝗘𝗦𝗨𝗟𝗧𝗦 (On paper):
➡️ The Dark/Purple shade indicates there is SPF

➡️The transparent/No shade indicates NO SPF

🌞𝗦𝘂𝗻𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗽𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗱 ✔️

☆OgOrganix Tinted
☆Sabbskin Oh Sunny
☆Entice Sunfix Spray
☆Solaris (both Blue & Red)
☆Spectramatt
☆Skin Aqua
☆ UVeil

🐣 𝗦𝘂𝗻𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗱𝗶𝗱𝗻'𝘁 ⁉️

● SunCoat SPF 100 (no response/info about it)

● BnB Lunar (They claim that it has encapsulated filters, so they don't show on the paper. But I did test it on my skin as well (highlights: Skin UV test) and it didn't show any SPF there as well, & BnB has nothing to say about that (Although they do mention to few of my members, that I am just "some blogger" doing this for "attention" I mean 🙃. Anyway, I'll still save my opinon until I am done with the UV beads test as well)

●ORCO (I have explained the whole orco situation in my highlights.

⁉️ If you're new or missed all this fun, then please check my highlights "UV beads", "SPF & UV light on paper " "Skin UV testing" for details, as I initially shared all the experiments on my stories.

🌝 I am saving my final opinion coz I still have to do the UV beads testing (where this all begins! I bought the UV beads specifically for this purpose!) But due to Eid & other stuff, it just couldn't happened. But I am on it & will soon share that with you guys as well!

🌸 Let me hear your thought in comments!

✨ Skincare for Babies👶🏻(0 - 6m) ✨⁣⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣
👨‍👩‍👦 Skincare for babies is simple, keep it MINIMAL! Specially during the first few months of their life. Since the skin in those months is extremely delicate & sensitive. ⁣

I put together some general skincare tips for your little ones to keep in mind ✨️ 💞⁣

🌱 Avoid excessive sun exposure (specially during the peak hours 10Am to 4pm) ⁣

🌱If you want to give a sunbathe, do it early in the morning or late afternoon when UV index is pretty low and with max clothing protection provided to the baby.⁣

🌱 No sunscreens for babies under 6 months. Wear protective clothing & stay in shade. ⁣

🌱Always patch test before using ANY thing on your baby's skin. ⁣

🌱 Try to opt for fragrance & drying Alcohol free products. ( baby, baby, baby are some good options to look into) ⁣

🌱 Avoid perfumes, baby mists, talc powder. ⁣

🌱 Avoid bubble/soothing bath solutions etc ⁣

🌱 Use only 2 products in the beginning. 1. A cleanser/wash (just 1 for both hair+body) ) 2. A baby oil (can be olive oil or mustard oil too) or moisture to moisturise the skin daily.

🌱 Use the wash only twice weekly (even once weekly is fine too) ⁣

🌱 If you're giving bath to the baby daily, it's not important to use the body wash daily, as it can be too drying for the babies. ⁣

🌱 Avoid Using too many different kind of products on baby's skin in the first couple of months. ⁣

Comment 👶🏻 if you want more (6mos - 1 year) skincare tips/product recommendations for babies. ⁣

P.S That is my baby Ariyan's photo dump of 0 - 6 months ❤️ ⁣

By the time hewas 6 months old, he already had 2 birthdays (3m n 6m) celebrated due to his overly excited mum n dad 🤪🥳

✨ Instagram VS Reality ✨⁣⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣
🤌🏻 Don't get impressed with the perfect selfies you see on social media, trust me it's a lie! Becuase real skin doesn't look like glass or some filter. ⁣

Having pores, texture, marks here n there are all completely NORMAL & is a part of YOU being a HUMAN. Only ROBOTS can have perfect, poreless, glass skin! ⁣

🤳🏻 In this first pic, the sunlight is perfect! The angle is perfect! I clicked the selfie at just the right moment! It minimises all the imperfections on my skin. Even though I'm not wearing any foundation or no filter on, lighting & angle still plays a vital role! ⁣

🤫 But when you look at the other picture, where the lighting isn't that good, you can see all the imperfections on my skin. ⁣

🤌🏻 So don't believe all the perfect, smooth skin selfies on Instagram, ⁣

Love your self, and stop being so hard on your skin. If you're going to analyse your skin under a magnifying 🔎, then surely it always will look imperfect. ⁣

Everyone has insecurities and that is fine! Every skin has texture, pores, some marks and that is FINE! Definitely work to improve the concerns, but keep your expectations real & above all, don't hate your skin ❤️ ⁣

Take notes 📝 📣 ⁣
⁣⁣
Layering skincare has simple rules 🤌🏻: ⁣

1. Any thing light weight, like toners. Hydrating serums, or any serum that is water based or has light consistency goed first (Am/Pm) both! ⁣

2. Any thing heavy, like moisturisers, hydrating oils, cream based treatments etc goes after. ⁣

3. Analyse the consistency of your products yourself and decide the order then. ⁣

4. Sunscreen in AM goes last! No matter chemical, physical, light, heavy whatever, it goes as the last step of your skincare. And after 15 min (preferably, not compulsory) you can apply your makeup! ⁣

5. Moisturiser is the last step of your PM routine (unless you're using a facial oil) ⁣

👀 I have been getting this question since quite a few times now since some days, as apparently some bloggers are preaching that the chemical sunscreens should go first and then the serums & moisturisers 🙆🏻‍♀️🙆🏻‍♀️. And if the sunscreen is mineral, it should go at the end.
I don't understand how someone can share such sensitive info in a wrong way with that much confidence! I'm not here to say anything bad about any one's work, but PLEASE do your research before suggesting the *wrong* information to your followers! Please!!!!⁣

Sunscreen is a sensitive matter! What's worst than not wearing sunscreen? Wearing it the wrong way and then having a confidence to face the sun since you have sunscreen on! So please bloggers, always, always double check your info before preaching it specially for sensitive matters! ⁣

If you have any questions regarding the layering/order of application of products, leave them below 🌼⁣

🌌Do you need sunscreen indoors? Or while cooking (another one of the most asked query) 🌌

🤌🏻 Okay to answer this, I can put in so many details & information here , but I want to keep it simple, short & easy to understand. ⁣

So,⁣

The Answer:  YES! ⁣

🤌🏻 Here is: WHY? ⁣

🌝 About 75% of UVA rays can pass through the window glass (enough to cause aging 🤓!). So if you have open areas in your house, like windows, galleries, balcony, yard etc then ofcourse you need sunscreen indoors as well. ⁣

🌝 You're exposed to the Free radical damage even if you're indoors. Specifically while cooking 🥘, all the heat & smoke causes the free radical damage on your skin (premature aging, worsening pigmentation etc) so wearing a sunscreen with antioxidant like Vit C, or Niacinamide etc helps control that damage! ⁣

🤌🏻 WHAT ABOUT REAPPLICATION? ⁣

🌝 Reapplication always depends on the sun exposure, if you have a lot of exposure, for eg if you're planning to spend several hours in your garden during the day time, then yes reapply after 2 - 3 hrs. ⁣

If the sun exposure is really limited, once a day is fine. ⁣

🌝 I personally apply sunscreen only once a day, I live in an apartment in KSA where the main sunlight exposure  I get is through the window in my Kitchen, I usually cook in the early afternoon, when I wake up. So I apply my sunscreen with my AM routine. It covers my kitchen window exposure + the cooking time as well! And then for the rest of the day if I'm planning to stay inside the house, I don't reapply. If I'm going out in the daylight then ofcourse I'll reapply once before stepping out of the house.

🤌🏻Summary: ⁣

Wear sunscreen every single day atleast once even if you're staying indoors all the time. Reapplication ofcourse is different for every scenario! ⁣

A skincare Tip: "Stay Happy" ✨ Don't let the stress take over your mind. Because not only it's bad for your skin, it's a literal enemy for your health.

& stop "Stressing" over your skincare! You guys sometimes make even the simplest of things complicated. Remember skincare is self-care and your should ENJOY your self-care rather than stressing over it. Keep it simple, don't over complicate.

Happy Friday my dearest Insta Fam ❤
