With the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 kicking off last night after a decade of preparations and anticipations, SUNPave had an early celebration after completing the installation of a walkable solar pavement last week at Al-Thumama Stadium, one of the eight brand new stadiums built in Qatar to host the 2022 World Cup games.

The installation is a major step for SUNPave, and we are hoping for it to be the start of many future installations around and the MENA region.

We are glad to announce that SUNPave was selected first place winner as the best sustainable energy startup during the finals event of Climathon2022, which was held at Egypt University of Informatics - EUI headed by Dr. Amani Hassan. The award was received by Ms. Azza Faiad, one of SUNPave’s co-founders, in the presence of H.E. Dr. Amr Talaat, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Prof. Dr. Reem Bahgat, President of Egypt University of Informatics, and representatives of the Egyptian universities and the national and international fields of technology and industry.
