PPS Friends & Families - Can’t wait to see everyone at the Fall Festival tomorrow! The kiddos have been hard at work for something special for you!
I think we had almost every Providence PPS Sprout kiddo not only touch and smell, but also taste basil straight from our garden this last week!
We also continued our love of 🍉 with observing our own watermelon seedlings growing tiny melons already and then having this awesome fruit as a perfect summer time treat.
We continued to plant more seeds, harvest more garden treasure, and of course dig for

My amazing at Providence Preparatory School with the Westbury PPS Sprouts.
Children spent the morning learning all about cucumbers and having hands on experience helping with our first PPS Sprouts harvest, then enjoyed eating this healthy, summer snack right from the garden. 🥒 you would have been proud!
I can’t leave these gardens without cutting more for the teachers which made a lovely table scape by the end of the day.
Westbury PPS Sprouts Providence Preparatory School getting in on the fun!
We learned about our rainbow color coordinated garden beds and their different types of gardens, placed the faux strawberries painted from our classmates to deter the local birds, inspected our growing cucumbers, and planted seeds for the following crops : pumpkins, watermelon, basil, beets, sunflowers and marigolds.
We finished up the class with sensory nature play digging for earthworms!

Did you know the fuzzy nubs are flowers waiting to bloom? Read below to learn more from
“They're actually flowers just before they fully bloom. The soft coating of hairs acts as insulation to protect these early bloomers from cold temperatures. The species most commonly called p***y willow in the Northeast, Salix discolor, is a small, shrubby species of willow that can be found dotting wetlands and moist woods throughout much of North America. Most other willows make similar flowers, and since they’re among the very first to bloom, they’re especially delightful—they signal the last throes of winter and the brink of spring.
