Hey Everyone,
I am genuinely sorry that itā€™s taken me so long to get on here and make a post about Hermes and Hermes Secret. First things first, Hermes is okay. During Hermes last vet visit they took him off of all his previous meds for the anemia and changed to a new medicine for his liver. Unfortunately the other medication started having a negative effect on his liver. He will have a vet visit on July 5th to check his levels again. Overall Hermes is hanging in there, heā€™s still pretty chunky but did lose some of his fat once off the steroids but he is back to his happy and loving self. I am so sorry for not getting on here sooner to give you all updates. I have been extremely overwhelmed with many unexpected major life changes over the last 10 months. I am still trying to find my place in my new reality which has been both exhausting and rewarding. Thank you so much for those of you who have been so kind, patient and understanding with me as I havenā€™t had the mental strength to be ā€˜meā€™ over the last several months. I am getting better everyday and am ready to dive back into Hermes Secret again. The support from this community is unexplainable. I am so extremely grateful and canā€™t wait to be back up and running at a way more involved level like I used to be. Once again, thank you for all of your love and support. For those of you who sent kind words, financial help for Hermes and those of you who continued to support my business during these hard and unknown times, thank you. Thank you so much. I wish I could put into words how much it means to me and how it helped give me hope and was a wonderful reminder that life also has so much to be grateful and appreciative for. I hope you all know how grateful I am. I will be doing my best to get back to everyone over the next couple days, please be patient with me as there is many messages and notifications for me to respond to.
With all our love,
The Hermes Secret Family

49%! Thank you all for your love, support and being patient with me. I have started my summer job which is a full time position and will limit my time to make Jammieā€™s. I will make a separate post about this soon explaining what this looks like for ordering and then leading into the busy season this fall/winter.

Hermes Update 3.13.2024

Hermes is doing really well. On Friday the 8th Hermes levels were at 39% which is great. The scary part is that we have started to adjust his medication to see if he can continue creating red blood cells but on his own. This can lead to a relapse but I am hopeful that Hermes is a strong enough boy that this isnā€™t something that will happen to him. He will be okay. Heā€™s a fighter, Iā€™m so proud of him.
Thank you all for your love, support and patience during the last few weeks. I really appreciate you and canā€™t begin to explain how grateful I am. From the bottom of my heart, thank you.

Hi everyone, sorry for the delayed update on Hermes. This past Friday, Hermes went to the vet and they ran some tests on his red blood cell levels again. Unfortunately, the levels went down to 25.5%. As of right now, we are playing a waiting game to see if the medication will work and help Hermes create red blood cells on his own. There is still a lot unknown as of right now. There is a possibility he will relapse and/or need another blood transfusion. Unfortunately thereā€™s a long road ahead of us and I donā€™t have answers for what that looks like right now. Hermes will be going back into the vet this Friday for additional testing, we are hoping the levels will be up higher and continue to go up. Hermes is a fighter and has been eating, drinking and moving around at his own pace. Thank you so so much for the love and support so far. I will be doing my best to keep everyone up to date as things progress, thank you for the patience and the love. If youā€™re able to share itā€™s greatly appreciated.

HERMES UPDATE
2 weeks ago, Hermes had a lump on the side of his face. I took him to the vet and they said he had an infected salary gland. They gave him antibiotics and we were on our way. Towards the tail end of the medication I was noticing that Hermes wasnā€™t really eating and he had vomited a few times. I called the vet and they told me that he was probably sick and not eating due to the medication and unfortunately sometimes antibiotics can make a dog feel nauseous. The next day Hermes still hadnā€™t ate at all and wasnā€™t himself so I decided to take him into the vet. They noticed that his red blood cells were low and said that he had Autoimmune Hemolytic Anemia. They kept Hermes at the vet and gave him fluids and medication. When I picked him up they sent me home with some medication to continue that was supposed to help with replenishing his red blood cells. Hermes still wasnā€™t doing better the next day, no food, no water. He was having issues standing and walking. He was very weak. I took him into the vet and they did another test. Hermes Red Blood Cell percentage was at 10% and had to be rushed to an emergency vet for an emergency blood transfusion. Hermes would not have made it through the night had he not been checked and rushed to the hospital for the transfusion. While at the ER we talked about how even with the transfusion the chances of him coming out of this was a 50/50 chance. Hermes had the transfusion. At 4AM his level was 28%, at 7AM it was at 24%, 11AM 24%, 3PM 26%. He was able to go home with me because he was currently taking the transfusion well. Next day I had to take him back in and they tested again, 30%. He is currently doing okay, heā€™s starting to eat and heā€™s drinking. He is still very weak and we still have a long road ahead of us. His body can start the process all over again where we would need another transfusion to buy more time and then have to start talking about options. Hermes has an appointment tomorrow morning to test his levels.
Thank you so much for all of your love and support. The kind words, the donations, sharing Hermes and his story have meant so much to me. Itā€™s been a really hard last 6 months and I am incredibly thankful for all of you. Thank you for making these difficult times easier to manage and less stressful as far as finances go.
And a big thank you to my bestfriend Erin for putting together this go fund me account especially when I wasnā€™t in the right mindset.
I will keep you all updated as I have updates. I apologize for just now getting to typing this all out. Itā€™s been a lot and has felt very overwhelming to sit down and put everything into writing.
Thanks again, I really appreciate you all.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
The last few months I have been faced with multiple unforeseen challenges that have unfortunately changed my life drastically. Due to all the chaos, I had fallen behind in my orders and am very sorry for everyone who has been negatively affected by my inability to function properly with the weight of my situation. I have been working diligently to catch up in my business and find a way to take care of my mental health along with the success of my business. I want to thank you for being so patient and understanding during this incredibly challenging chapter of my life. For those of you who are new to Hermes Secret, please know that this is not how I normally choose to conduct business. I am hoping to only go up from here. I appreciate and love all of you.
