Sorting Saturday 2019 - This event is made possible by our generous community donations, local school food drives with KCRA 3, Raley's and the Placer Food Bank.
This morning more than 150 volunteers sorted food into categories and then filled 300 boxes for our community serving those in need.
As a reminder, the donations we receive stay in the Loomis Basin - serving Loomis, Penryn, Newcastle, Ophir & Rocklin. Any extra food donations fill the Loomis Emergency Food Pantry located at the First United Methodist Church in Loomis.

The collected donated food pile is growing. Picture 3 shows 13000+ lbs of nourishment.
There are 3 to 4 more deliveries the could push us to 16000 lbs or 8 tons of food to sort and make Christmas baskets for our 2019 event.
Loomis basin business, St. Peter & Paul of Rocklin, Rough Stuff of Loomis, and the Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints neighborhood food drive.
8 tons of nourishment to be managed and gifted. Please strongly consider helping, from 8-12, Saturday, 12-14-19.
It will be a great service experience. Or...... you can lay on your couch.
Say Hi if you come. I’ll be the tall guy with a microphone.

Our gathered food is growing. Currently we are at 13000+ lbs. I’m aware of three/four additional loads coming.
Loomis basin businesses, St.Peter & Paul of Rocklin, Rough Stuff of Loomis, and the Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints neighborhood food drive!
We will be at the 8 tons of food to sort and convert into Christmas Baskets.
Many hands make light work. In addition to sorting food and making Baskets, we’ll need a team to help bag up donated mandarins.
Lots to do, a great cause to plug into, or you can just sit on your couch.....
Waiting for Del Oro and one other schools donated good. Our pile is growing. 280 boxes and counting.
