Danielle's Gardens
gardener đș landscape designer đ» bee keeper đ all things farm to table đ„
Croci in this town.
Animals in the garden- some useful/scary to me /cute/ useless ( but brings us joy).
This week in the home garden- the chronicle of our big tree removals will come later. Check my comments for plant ID and snark.
And more from the Bryn Athyn college garden - headed up by Laura Clymer and her summer student crewđ
So much credit to the leadership of Laura Clymer as she has coached the summer BAC garden crew. Hopefully, these students will carry these lessons forward in their lives. Julien Buss, Pehri Rhodes, Barton Cooper, Jacinda Hoganđđ»đ
This week at our cathedral- youâll notice the difference between talented photographers and my âoff the cuffâ pics. The last two are definitely not mine!
I was going to chop these artichokes down, but just couldnât. Now Iâm inspired to plant more. The chokes are a bit small for eating ( even though we do) , but they are a night club party for pollinators.
Mom- I listened
You make your own caption- I got bashed by my family when I labeled thisđł
This week in the home gardens.
Specific plants at our cathedral this week with a twist at the endđ»
Vistas at the cathedral today. Grateful for the slightly cooler weather.
This week in the garden and prepping for lunch with a friendđ»
Tedious montage of coneflowers- just showing yâall how much color is possible this summer . Grow them high and dry in great soil. Ha! Now Iâll have to explain that
Animals in the garden - bat faced cuphea and t***y tat. I planted the cuphea in memory of the hundreds of bats that occupied our old house for a century. Now , they summer in our eaves instead of the atticâŠ. It was time for them to vacate.
This week in the veg garden âŠ. With a fail.
Farewell to Fred and a warm welcome to a new friend - donât judge my green water! I set Fred out in the garden last week since I emptied my greenhouse.
Fred is back! ( an eastern pa tree frog). Hadnât seen him for 8 weeks and heâs doubled in size in our greenhouse - he has a cute butt
I know this isnât specifically garden content, but he belongs đ
Photos that I cannot take credit for. Folks send me pictures of our cathedral gardens all the time and I am so grateful. I rarely take time to document our progress. I blame Anita Halterman/ Kurt Asplundh/ Steve Conroy for probably taking these pictures that I could never capture
When you think youâre in a flower dirth. ( hungry gap). It makes you hunt!
Itâs Japanese iris season at the cathedral⊠plus one surprise.
Not sure why allium explosion themes keep jumping out at me this year. Steven Conroy could do a great job of my first pic ( like raindrops on a spider web).
I believe the last two pics are from David Childs.
I just have to keep my eyes open.
The w**d thistle at our shop that I have not IDâd yet. Smells fruity and is very thorny - good cut flower if you have brave hands. Not invasive like those Canada things.
Today at the cathedral- hoping for rain!
Siberian iris love today! Okay.... thereâs a foxglove and a lupine in the mix. Note the combos whilst designing perennial bordersđ»
We love the look , but not the scent , of our âcoral charmâ peonies. They start out coral and fade to a nice cream. This is year 4 of their growth and we definitely appreciate their strong stems that donât require support. Hooping zillions of peonies can get tedious
First poppy and a re- purposed old fountain
Stages of life
Our white garden at the cathedral- prettiest year yet!
Happy Motherâs Day to all! Sending everybody full out flower pics from our yard - may your year bloom to the fullest!!!
The knights who say âni â! Tell me this ainât straight out of Monty Pythonâs â quest for the holy grail.
