One of the latest digital drawings i made for a poem of my dear and talented friend
This artwork is inspired by an installation that appeared anonymously in a street wall of Valparaiso, Chile.
In October 2019 a revolution was going on in my country. Everyone wanted a new constitution (one that wasn't written under dictatorship like the one we have since 1981) after all the fighting, people killed for protesting and so much more violations of the human rights, a plebiscite was called to propose a new constitution.
For more than a year a commission worked on it. Then, two years later, the majority of the country would vote to end up rejecting the new constitution 🗡️🩸
After the results of the voting process a metal installation appears overnight welded on a wall in Valparaiso, showing a snake with a body in the shape of Chile eating itself. 🐍
That is the curse of my country...
in my version the snake is made of blood that represents all the people who lost their lives in the revolution, and is placed on a sheet of the old (and still valid) constitution of the military dictatorship (requested by )
