Un prix d'excellence ?
Le décès de Claudy Gassant suscite également des interrogations sur le campus de l'Université des Antilles, où il a laissé un parcours professionnel remarquable. Il a obtenu des diplômes en droit en Guadeloupe, puis s'est rendu à Bordeaux, et a décroché une mention "très bien" à l'École Nationale de la Magistrature (ENM) en France.
Afin de perpétuer l'action de Claudy Gassant, son frère Lunes Gassant a sollicité la création d'un "Prix d'Excellence Claudy Gassant" à l'Université des Antilles, visant à encourager les étudiants d'origine haïtienne à suivre son exemple et à poursuivre une carrière dans le droit public. Il attend la réponse des autorités universitaires des Antilles.
